Marching Band Position
I am seeking this position because I believe that every section in the band needs a leader who is dedicated beyond belief. As a section leader, my goal would be to make the flutes become a little family and work as a team to make up the best that we can be. I enjoy most aspects of marching band and I hope to spread my joy, positivity, and passion for playing the flute in the hopewell Viking pride marching band.

I believe I would be able to bring new and creative things to the WWF Carleton executive team. I am a proactive individual with excellent communication skills who pays attention to detail. I am involved with a variety of Carleton campus clubs such as Free the Children or Mental Health Champions which helps me to not only gain experience with different initiatives but create connections around campus. I also had the chance to practice a leadership role as the president of my high school’s Free the Children club. I would also have experience to bring to the table from working as Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre’s Youth Volunteer Coordinator planning, promoting and running events as well as recruiting and supervising volunteers. Also from…

The first thought any writer should give to a paper is not "What am I going to say?" but "Who is my audience?" You can think of the audience of your Humanities paper as an informed and intelligent fellow student. Ultimately, of course, most essays are evaluated by a professor, but that professor is not a bored or sneering reader looking for a single interpretation. The professor is interested in the same work that you are writing about, probably knows a good deal about it, and wants to be persuaded by a claim that you make about your topic. You are writing to someone who knows the work at least as well as you do, so do not fill up your paper with plot summary. Your job is to remind your audience of passages in the text that provide evidence for the argument you want to create about your topic.…

I am writing concerning Tripp Moore, whom I have come to know throughout my years as the Flomaton High School “Hurricane” Marching Band drumline instructor. As Tripp’s instructor, it was a pleasure to get to know him. Tripp has been a great student of mine and it has been my pleasure of being able to teach him. He has some great qualities of a human being and qualities that you would love to see in a leader. Tripp’s hard work and his dedication to music helped him as he joined band and made awesome strides to be on the best percussionist. Tripp also dedicates his time to being a part of the Flomaton High School Jazz Band, and being the drummer at his church First Baptist Church of Flomaton, Alabama. Tripp will one day be a great leader in his…

Dear Principle Spencer, Associate Principal Lee, and Athletic Director Fry: You do so much for this school. The goal of success for all students is incredibly apparent through your actions. It is obvious that the football team is amazing, and so are the other sports. They all put forth hard work, and earn their greatness. But you are neglecting a major part of home football games: the marching band. The Turpin Marching Band is one of, if not the biggest team in the school, with 150 members. These people train just as hard as the football team. I can tell you with experience, with how many times I’ve pushed a heavy synth cart through the mud, or up the hill to the stadium like King Sisyphus’ boulder in the underworld. I’ve marched so hard I…

Music, in itself, is its own language; for some it’s easy to understand, others take it to the next level and add choreographed movement to it, such as marching bands. An average marching wind ensemble practice begins with a simple stretch and review of the basic marching techniques. They begin one week before the fall semester starts. Normal “band camp” days involve basic technique practices on the field in the morning, rehearsal after lunch, and a combination of the marching and music after their dinner. They meet three days a week during the fall semester; two and a half hours each session, depending on whether the directors think it’s necessary. They must learn a pre-game performance, their halftime show, and all stand-tunes (the short songs that are…

I am a leader. I have all the qualities that make a great leader, but I was not born this way.Experiences and how someone reacts to those experiences are what truly make a leader. One of the most influential experiences I have gone through is called the Lebanon High School Marching Band. I am certain that I wouldn’t be who I am today if it weren’t for marching band. Before coming to high school I already had leadership qualities, but band helped bring all those great qualities together and helped me get past my two major flaws: my lack of self-confidence and the fact that I was probably one of the shyest people you would EVER meet. When I joined marching band, I spent most of my waking hours sweating and suffering alongside wonderful people that I longed to…

As for character of what I would bring to the band, I am laid back and easy going but I can be very strict when I need to. Whenever we aren’t doing something I usually chat or goof off, but when it’s time to begin, it’s time to settle down, so I center my focus and get right to work trying to get everyone to fall into line. I am very dedicated to music and band so there wouldn’t have to be any worries with my responsibilities for the band. Also, I don’t play any sports or do anything besides choir and band all year with the exception of musical in the spring and diff and AP…

Marching, marching is a form of walking consisting of the military step which has a cadence. The origin of the military is long been lost. But some theorist believes it derived from the ancient Babylonian military. Ancient stones have shown through pictures or formally known as pictographs. Pictographs are the earliest known form of writing discovered in Ancient Egypt. These late pictographs showed the Babylonian military being in step, forming left leg to right arm, while holding their military gear.…

I am a great leader, with a lot of maturity and know when it’s time to be serious, and when it’s time to joke around.
