How males and females communicate
Human is more advanced than other animals, it is that human can use tools and use their own languages. There are many kinds of different languages in the world. Human beings are made up of men and women, but they use the different languages to communicate. This essay will explain how males and females communicate.

There are several ideas about communication for males. First of all, when males play game, they like to join in large groups. For example, they like to boast themselves, such as how well they can do things. Men always like to be the winner, so they try hard to win (Barton and Sardinas, 2004). Another factor is the topics which males always talk. An example is that the topics are only 4 subjects when they are talking, such as work, sport, jokes and women (Markham, 2009). Males think it is less interested in gossip. Men like to talk about other people with their lives (Barton and Sardinas, 2004). The third factor is the brain that how men think about. Men are unable to cope with more than a handful of topics in the same time. Men’s brains are more rigidly compartmentalized than women’s. Moreover, males’ emotions are the primitive part of the brain (Markham, 2009).In brief, men like to play with many people, they only talk four topics and their brains are easy to understand.

However, there are several points about communication for females. Firstly, if women want to play game, they like to join in small groups. For instance, they only want to play with one or two best friends and they play fairly and take turns (Barton and Sardinas, 2004). The second factor is the topics which females always talk. Women can talk about a lot of topics, ranging from health to house prices, politics to pregnancy, and childcare to clothes (Markham, 2009). They are interested in gossip (Barton and Sardinas, 2004). The final factor is the brain that how women think about. They can leap from subject to subject at the same time. And

Deborah Tannen’s “Sex, Lies, and Conversation” is a brief look at how men and women communicate with one another and the cross-culture differences between their individual styles and needs for conversation. Women often say that men do not listen or do not want to talk. Tannen gives reasons why women tend to believe that men are not listening, and shows that just because men have a different approach to communicating does not mean they are not listening to what women are saying. She uses several different examples to back up her statements including early childhood differences in communication between girls and boys, the body language men use and how women tend to interpret it, and how women tend to receive information while communicating. Men and women have very different expectations when it comes to communicating with one another.…

There has been much debate and research undertaken by scientists and psychologists in order to ascertain whether there are qualitative differences between humans and animals. This essay will discuss some of the communication methods that animals use and whether these are comparable to human traits. In addition, it will be necessary to explore further whether humans are in possession of any distinctive characteristics which result in uniqueness. Furthermore, this essay will also consider the significance of the evolutionary process and conclude whether humans are indeed fundamentally different or alternatively merely a more sophisticated and advanced type of animal.…

The communication style of men is more direct. Men are more dominate and may take offence or feel put down when women offers to help and add input in a conversation. Men can come to decisions quickly and on their own. In contrast, women like to discuss the issue with others and ask for opinions before making a decision. Women use communication to build relationships and collaboration to bond with others. Men are usually uncomfortable discussing feelings or showing emotion. Men want to solve a problem and move forward. However, women tend to like to discuss personal feelings, show emotions, and invite input from others. Thus, challenges arise between men and women. For example, after a long day I like to come home and vent to my boyfriend. His interpretations are that I am a constant complainer when really I just want to express my personal…

An analysis of an exert, “Sex, Lies, and Conversation” by Deborah Tannen, effectively compares communication styles between men and women. How men and women react during a conversation is illustrated throughout the book. Tannen states that “women regard conversation as the cornerstone of friendship” then closely follows the statement with friendships between men “are based less on talking, more on doing things together.” This also shows how point-by-point comparison strategy is used.…

Gender has been widely studied when it comes down to communication and how both men and women do so. Everyone has heard the saying that women speak more mindlessly than men and because of this a woman’s speech is assumed to be less assertive and lacking in power than a man’s speech. However, this is certainly not true. “In one Toronto classroom, the males were found to speak 75-80% of the time (Gaskell, McLaren, & Novogrodsky, 1989)” (Meier, 1999). It has also been found that men tend to interrupt in conversations more so than women do and are also more competitive in conversation and communication. Men and women definitely communicate differently; however, this is…

As the society changes to individualism, there are a lot of people having problem with communication. Become a big issue that although communication is a very important skill in our life, some people are just living with ignoring this fact. Researchers try to find the what causes are affected to people and some of them found the issue was from between men and women that using differences brain function which is men used left half of their brains while listing to the novel, while the women used both halves of their brains. However, I would be hard to agree this research. Although researchers found men and women uses different brain function, I think the most important thing is their environment, we would not say that who is a better listener by gender because a person’s behavior shows up from their personality. Particularly, it is caused by their friendship or from parents or it can affect his or her cultural style.…

From Deborah Tannen’s essay “Sex, Lies and Conversation” I feel as though she is expressing her personal view of the different communication styles amongst men and women. In the essay, she writes “…American men tend to talk more than women in public situations, they often talk less at home.” (Tannen 408) Her expression of the American gender roles is very simple, masculinity among men and femininity among women, even something as direct as communication. Men really take over in social settings. Men are associated with the idea of this big masculine man so they feel as though they must prove themselves worthy in a crowd, per say. At home, they are reserved and simple. Being the man of the house, the husband, father, fiancé, etc. expects his…

I have always heard that men and women are from different planets and have their own cultures, while in reality we have all grown up on the same planet and interact with each other in different ways on a daily basis. Men and women are different in many ways; they see the world through completely different perspectives. The key to understanding the differences is in the way men and women communicate. Men and women differ psychologically in the way they act, from the style in which they communicate to the way in which they attempt to influence others. These gender differences in communication and influence tactics also have implications for gender differences in communication styles; communication differences in the workplace; differences in non-verbal and verbal communication; and miscommunication between men and women. Differences in communication style between men and women are visible physically, mentally and behaviorally. These two genders are different at the way how they act, sense, think and speak. Furthermore, one of the major dissimilarity between the sexes is the way they communicate. Therefore, the major common of dissimilarity in communication affects both sexes in every perspective.…
