4. Management function
4.1 Human resource process

As a diversified business corporation, Mai Linh attracts the various, potential and well-educated human resources of working in the core group and its member companies. Based on the functional structure above, Mai Linh Group has created a quite well-organized human resource process.

4.1.1 Planning

To begin the human resource planning, Human Reources manager takes inventory of current employees that is called current assessment including job description and job specification. There have some certain requirements for both managers and employees in general.

In term of managers, they should meet these requirements:

← Age 26-40; experiences at least 2 years in the same positions in former companies or corporations;

← Ability to read academic documents in English;

← Ability to use office information technology and related specialized software;

← Teamwork skill, ability to work individual and under high pressure;

← Honesty, integrity, dynamic, progressiveness, responsibility for the work;

← Having strategic vision and good leadership;

← Creating a friendly, positive working environment and office culture;

← Managing and developing the professional and effective human resources.

In term of employees, they should have:

← Age 22-35;

← Experience at least 1 year in the same position;

← Ability to read academic documents in English;

← Ability to use office information technology and related specialized software;

← Teamwork skill, ability to work individual and under high pressure;

← Honesty, integrity, dynamic, progressiveness, responsibility for the work;

According to the Annual Report 2010, the total number of employees in the whole system estimated to December 31, 2010 is 25.908 (not including Tan Hung, Nang Dong, Viet Linh), increases 11.8% compared with 2009. In the near future, Mai Linh is improving the quality of human resources to meet the increasing development needs of the company, aiming to become the leading transportation enterprise in the whole country; improving the wage policies, the highly competitive remunerative policies, continuing to enhance the brand image of Mai Linh.

4.1.2 Recruitment

The information about the recruitment campaigns will be uploaded frequently tin company website (Mailinh.vn) or some reliable recruitment websites (vieclam.24h.vn or vatgia.vn) to get immediately feedback among large number of people. Besides, the employee’s referrals are made use of to produce the well-qualified applicants. Moreover, the recruitment may be taken place in Mai Linh Private Vocational Training Centre located in Ho Chi Minh city (Mailinh.vn).

4.1.3 Selection

In the selection process, the candidates firstly fill in the application form and send it directly to Human Resources Department. Each of them has to meet some certain requirement for each certain position. In Mai Linh taxi, drivers have to have education degree levelled at 9/12 or more, driving license from B2 and above, good health, shift work, no criminal record, no defects, no tattoos, no drug use and other stimulants;160cm height or more; good ethics and honesty. In addition, the candidates are in priority if they are demobilized soldiers, changing career police, youth volunteer; they have a practicing taxi certificate; they have worked in Mai Linh Group (recruitment-mailinh.vn). Physical examinations are not required for some special positions such as taxi telephone board or technical supply. Then, the selected candidates are interviewed by asking some actual situations to examine their experiences and related knowledge about the applied vacancies.
