For example, the iron that the ferry is made of. This is seen on the walls of the ferry, the pillars, the floor, and the chairs. Because there are light bulbs in the ceiling of this ferry’s deck, the light of these are then reflected on these surfaces by using lighter colors, mostly white, which through this noticeable and shiny reflection along with the long brush strokes add smoothness to these, it makes the texture of these appear like iron. Another example is in the floor of the boat’s floor, where we can tell that there are water puddles because of the texture depicted in them, which is done through the reflection of the lights again made with lighter colors and mostly white, the irregular randomized brush strokes as well as the different colors used to portray how certain parts of the floor are wet (with the use of darker colors) and others are dry. Then there are also the buildings in the back which we can see are made of glass because of again the use of reflection made with different colors, especially…

This bottle looks very refreshing and mouth-watering. The advertisement is split in half on the left there is an all white background. In the middle of the right side there is a couple, male and female on a date. The woman is in front of the man holding a pool stick wearing a silky gold tank top. She is glancing to the side. The man is behind the woman, looking at the viewer of the advertisement. He is wearing a black leather paperboy hat with a white sweater and a grey undershirt. His facial expression is suggesting that he is ‘up to something.’ On the top of the left side there is a phrase “endless opportunities.” This is evidence for the expression on the guy’s face. He is trying to ‘make something happen’ with the woman. The same couple is on the right side of the advertisement, but now the woman is facing the man with her arms around his neck. Now she has a smile from ear to ear. Again the woman is looking to the side and the man is looking at the viewer. This time the male looks more confident. The male has his arms wrapped around her back holding the pool stick. He is no longer wearing his hat or sweater. The background of the right side is a faded blue with a beer and a pool table. Above the couple is there is a phrase “superior…

The scene of the ad takes place at night in a sky-rise apartment in some thriving metropolis. In the apartment, the drapes are for now pushed aside while a woman, perhaps in her 20s, stands straddling a man, with an indefinable age, sitting in a 60s-style chair with only his legs and forearm visible. The man holds a martini and the woman holds a drink mixer while seductively looking into the hidden face of the mystery man. The man is wearing a business suit and the woman wears the clichéd “little black dress” paired with studded black heels. Both the male and female are Caucasian. In the left foreground is the picture of the product, a Skyy Vodka bottle sitting next to a martini on a table. The main appeal to sex is made by the body language between the man and the woman, as the man’s legs are in between hers and her posture and leering facial expression scream “seductress.” Another…

In today’s society, communication is everywhere , but for me the best and most influential form of communication is visual. Images are a huge part of todays world and in my eyes has the greatest potential to document the factual or express the imaginary. They can stimulate thought and challenge opinions. In a world where we are becoming increasingly disconnected from ourselves and each other I strongly believe that images help to reconnect us all. No other form of communication is as powerful, nor can speak to so many people across the world as the universal language of photography.…
