Loyalty Day Speech
I am much honored to be a guest on this special even. Truly, it isn’t easy going through the tasks of high school nor it is hard. But before I go on, give yourselves applaud for you have successfully completed a rigorous program of study during the last six years. Having been in your shoes for almost 8 years ago, becoming a high school student is no easy task. Homework, projects and other take-home school activities are just the teachers’ way to balance things in our lives. And having to relive all these moments makes me feel great because not only did I survived high school by accomplishing these tasks but I survived along with all my friends.
There is always more to do and more to learn. Undoubtedly, quite a number of you will be pursuing careers in the next 5-10 years. Even if you will not, the value of education will stay with you. In my years of being in high school, I learned to cope with anything that comes my way and you will too if all of you will participate and get active in class.
To be honest, I wasn’t that active in class at all. I wasn’t good at Math either and I was always at the bottom of our class but that didn’t stop me from pursuing my dreams. Look where it got me now? I am standing right in front of you as a guest. I would like all of you to know that when trouble comes your way, you will always find a solution for it, just know where to look. Up or down or left or right.
And if I may, I would like to greet all of you a happy “Loyalty Day”, newcomers of this school. Before I leave this stage, I would like to propose a challenge for all of you. I would like to see all of you graduate and thank your teachers when the time comes. Again, have a fun day and enjoy your acquaintance party.

“I want to see the beauty. In the ugly, in the sink, the suffering, in the daily, in all the days before I die, the moments before I sleep.” (goodreads.com) High school is expressed as the best of times, but also as the worst of times. Regardless of whether we desire to or not, it is a part of our lives we will remember forever. It is when we start to figure out who we are, and decide the life we want to live. While we go through this significant phase of our life, it is essential that we appreciate it to the best of our ability by focusing on living in the moment, taking the time to enjoy ourselves and helping others enjoy themselves too.…

High school is supposed to be the best years of a teenager’s life and for me it was. The first high school I ever attended was Eldorado high school, home of the Sundevils. The first day of my freshman year I woke up to my mom’s voice that morning, “Get up!” she yelled from my room door. It was the perfect morning, the smell of pancakes and bacon coming from the kitchen and my dad ironing my clothes before he goes to work. The first day of my freshman year was just like any other freshman’s. I walked to each of my classes nervously in those crowded and long hallways but mostly filled with excitement because I knew there was a lot of exciting adventures to come. After the first couple of months I was no longer a random girl that walked the wall ways. Everyone I associated with called me Nayynayy, that nickname stuck with me throughout my whole high school career.…

Thank you. If you keep watching, there is an episode where they celebrate V-A Day which is the day that the war ended. Again, if you strip away all the Nazi stuff, it could be Thanksgiving. It was autumn. That time of the year where students struggle to get back into the flow of their everyday schedule after a summer of winding down. That wasn’t the case for me. I was a junior at Xaverian Brothers high school, who flew through my freshman and sophomore year of high school like it was nothing, and was ready to start the most important year of my high school career. I knew what lied ahead, SAT’s, the common application and more importantly deciding on what I want to do with my life.…

I remember this morning clearly, the day I had been waiting for, When I received my SAT scores. I had never been a super bad student, just never really a good one, grades have never been important to me, it was always about friends. The spots for athlete and genius in my seemingly perfect family had already been filled by my younger brother and older sister, so I put my effort into doing the one thing I could do that no one else would- be popular. I’m not really trying to say that I’m the most popular girl in the world but I've always…

With the date of my graduation steadily approaching it gives me the opportunity to really look back on all of my achievements throughout high school. There are so many I’m proud of. Starting my freshman year I began strong. I was a star student receiving nearly all A level grades in my courses. I was also an active member in Student Council and the arts. I was in the musical production of Cinderella and in Solo and Ensemble performance with my flute. Even at that young age I still understood the importance of giving back to the community and I volunteered my time at the Harley Davidson Fall Ride for the MDA. As I entered my Sophomore year I continued my strong passion for bettering myself and others. I was able to improve my academics by receiving…

Entering High School made me proud being the first of my family of going to High School the first year seemed not as hard except from the part that I had computer homework and no internet, I would stay after school and work in the computers from school. Later in my sophomore year the physics teacher moved away and the school took about 6 months to replace the teacher, then on my junior year I decided to take an AP course something that seemed extremely hard for me since it was in a subject on which I was really bad at U.S. History I have never been able to keep the information it had never seemed to stick on me. At the beginning I would see my classmates understanding the subject and then there was me a student who did not get history and seemed to be getting harder and harder but later I discovered videos thanks to a teacher which seemed to help later I started to view my notes as a story not as a sentence but as a story. I would spend nights studying for test and “no te duermas hija ya casi acabas namas dos paginas más” don’t fall asleep daughter you're almost done just two more pages my mom would say…
