Life Of Pi And Keesh Analysis

Having to survive in such an extreme environment is not easy,especially if someone were to be in Keesh and Pi’s position. Keesh and Pi both have been struggling to keep themselves alive,for Keesh he would like to display that he can hunt a bear on his own trying to show that although he is a child he can hunt as a man, and have a fair share of the meat that he will eat . As Pi is stranded in the middle of the ocean trying to find a sign of hope or food to keep himself alive as well. In the Life of Pi and “The Story of Keesh” Pi and Keesh exhibit similarities in regards to their braveness,skillfulness, and their will to survive in an extreme environment.
In the excerpt from Life of Pi ,Pi demonstrates braveness and skillfulness after surviving
An example that is in the text is “.. to kill a mother and her two cubs.The men could not bring themselves to believe that the boy Keesh ,single handed,had accomplished so great a marvel.” This demonstrates how he took care of the meat on his own without any help and that he can prove to the council that although he is a boy that he can also hunt like a man. According to the text it says “Go ye men with the dogs and sledges and take my trails for the better part of a day’s travel.”This describe how hunting can be hard work for Keesh and it requires hours of days of traveling across snow and ice. On page 64 it says “Never shall I speak in council again,never again… I too his son shall go and hunt the meat that I eat .”This is an example that he stood up to the council and told them that until he proves that he can hunt the meat to the council he will not be spoken to until then.
