The only ones left are you and the tiger. Now what could you do. Now open your eyes think how could you have survived on that boat. Pi survived on that boat with a tiger for 227 days on the Pacific Ocean. The only reasons he came out alive was because these three beliefs with is God,his family and his caring of life.

Because Pi's parents were strongly religious and had been brought up a serious Hindu. Religion is important to him in his everyday life. Some evidence of this is when Pi goes to the church to talk to Father Martin and that when he told Pi about the story of Christ on the cross. Pi then added

Also he was saddened when Orange Juice had died. At first Pi had wanted to kill Richard Parker but over time he RP began to grow on him and they became neutral friends.. On the boat he gave him left over fish for Richard Parker to eat. He also had a emotional connection with Richard Parker. When they made it to the Mexican shore Pi was saddened when he and Richard Parker did not have a official good bye. pi's third belief is family and how he cared for him. This is evidenced to when while in India he loved his mother, father, and brother. Also his father taught him everything about animals and zoos. Like when his father had to teach him a lesson by showing the lion eating the goat. While this was happening he had ran to his mother for comfort. This shows that pi does care for his mother and father. Plus his parents loved him so much that they even bought a praying rug even if they were uncomfortable with the idea of him believing three

In the quote “Without Richard Parker, I wouldn’t be alive today to tell you my story”. It’s talking about how Pi wouldn’t be alive and wouldn’t had made it through when he was on the boat without Richard Parker. This is strange due to the fact Richard Parker is a adult male tiger that weighs 450 pounds and takes up about a third of the life boat they share. But to fully explain why he thinks this we have to go back to the beginning of their journey together. When they first encounter each other Pi is scared half to death. But over the time they spend with each other they learn to work with each other. I believe that this quote his saying that although the presence of Richard Parker, though initially terrifying, eventually saves Pi from utter loneliness.…

Nevertheless, throughout his journey he only keep one focus…God. Martel’s main aim was to enlighten his audience with the miracles God can bestow upon the believers in him. In order to make sure his goal is clear, he emphasized the fact that Piscine practices three distinct religions. While Pi was on the lifeboat he continued to have faith in God. Yann Martel makes it exceptionally clear that the key to Piscine’s survival was that he stayed true to his religious conviction.…

At first Pi was telling Richard Parker to get to the boat which could easily be himself telling himself to get to the boat, when he has trouble reaching it he feels the need to give up and just when he was done with trying he is pulled up onto the life boat. After all how could have the tiger jumped onto the boat. The zebra represents a pattern mainly white and black which a sailor could easily represent. The sailor could have been dressed in white and the blood could have been represented by the black. Going on, once the hyena killed the monkey, the Bengal tiger then killed the Hyena. This could have been Pi enraging when the cook killed his mother. Once Pi killed the cook he was completely gone. I feel that Pi was just visioning a tiger and that is why the tiger never harmed him and rarely interacted with him. When Pi found the island I felt that he was simply not ready for real life and so he was drastically scared and so he thought he saw dead fish on the island, which caused him to only explore during the day. The island was considered toxic but no where on this planet has ever been recorded to have found an island so toxic and this 'island' was also never…

Ever thought about how many religions you can believe in? Is it right or wrong to believe in more than one religion? Martel describes how Pi loves God through Christianity, Hinduism, and Muslim. One day Pi and his family were at a park and there was a priest, pandit, and imam came up to them and said they wanted Pi to make up his mind regarding which religion he believes in. The wise men argued about which one Pi should believe in and he could not decide because he loves and is faithful in all. He replied, “Bapu Gandhi said, ‘All religions are true’ I just want to love God” ( 69, Life of Pi). Therefore, Pi states that he just wants to love God no matter how many different religions he practices. Even though his family made fun of him and doubted him about his belief and the wise men were mad that Pi did not make a decision on what religion to believe in that did not stop Pi from practicing them. Martel makes this believable throughout the book by using imagery to show how passionate Pi is about religion. Also, Martel's imagery captured the different stories Pi told about why he was Hindu. One example is when Pi is describing all of the different parts of Hinduism and why he is a Hindo. One part that Pi describes is the religious food that Hindus prepare and goes into depth about how they smell and look. Another part that…

In many religions, those devoted to God would attend religious activities that would bring them closer together. In this case, Pi willingly gave his old life up for Richard Parker and gain an understanding how animals have to fend for itself in order to survive. Together, they went through trials and tribulations, and Pi was upset that Richard Parker left without a goodbye for he believes in “form [and] give things in meaningful shape” (316). This hints that Pi looks up to Richard Parker as a divine and turn to his “help” at the beginning. Even though it was not as evident, their relationship is similar to one with God of mutual love and trust, which is demonstrated when Richard Parker chose to kill the blind Frenchman rather than Pi. He is repaying him for keeping him alive, and did not plot to kill him when he is most vulnerable. The tiger gave him the protection throughout his journey to fulfil his promise to get him on land, which is similar to how God will exchange in return if one believe or is deemed worthy in their devotion to him for something much…
