People should not be held accountable for their actions in life or death situations. Things that could occur unexpectedly is something that may happen. In life or death situations you act on the most reasonable thing that you could think of. It is normal for people to panic and make bad mistakes that they should not be held accountable for. In order to survive you have to do things that could be overwhelming to you. In Life of Pi an “Indian boy” is trying to survive a shipwreck, not to mention he is on a lifeboat with a tiger. Pi is a harmless, bookish, and religious boy that had to do a task that crushed him emotionally. The right thing for him to do was to kill a fish, which was very hard for him. In addition, it helped him survive from Richard Parker from eating him. “I wept hearty over this poor little deceased soul. It was the first guilty as Cain.
