Data Protection Act 1998
The act is protected and covers the individual’s personal data about their living so that the persons are protected from exploitation. You can see underneath that it has been already identified the variety of rights in Data Protection Act 1998 that is provided which includes: * To have the authority to identify what evidence is detained on the person to be able to do research and the right material * To have the authority to reject the evidence that is provided * To have the authority to maintain the data that is held on the person should be up dated and truthful * To have the authority that the documents that is held on someone should not be set aside for long period * To have the authority for confidential policy that should not be presented to unlawful individuals
As (Beryl Stretch, 2010) mentioned that it is essential in health and social care settings that the care workers keep the patient's personal information safe meaning by not sharing with anyone that do not need to know. For instance, in the hospital the information can only be passed further for legitimate purposes that the patient's family and friends have to know about.
