Leading By Example As A Role Model
Leading by Example Do you think that leading by example is a real thing? Some people believe that it is not a reality. Most people believe that it is a reality, and I am one of those people. Leading by example has affected who I was, who I am, and is going to affect me in the future. Leading by example is a reality and should be treated as one.
Leading by example is a reality and is important to me because it has shaped who I am. I used to look up to certain celebrities and aspired to be like them, which caused me to do certain things that they did. As I got a little older, I started looking towards my older brother as a role model and wanted to be like him, which caused me to develop other certain characteristics that I still possess.

With the characteristics that I gained from the role models earlier in my life, I aspire to be a hard worker, a good dad, and a man of integrity. By being these things, I will be a role model to my children when they grow old enough, my coworkers at my workplace, and my friends, even the friends that I have today, thereby creating a next generation of hard workers, good fathers, and men of integrity. I look forward to following in the footsteps of my mentors and leading future generations in the right direction. Leading by example has always been and will always be a vital part of our society, our culture, and way of …show more content…
As a child, I was lead by example and developed a foundation to build on for who I wanted to be. I can say that today I am proud of who I am and it makes me proud when people can see my role models in me. I look forward to the day when my sons will look to me to determine the kind of men that they want to be. I hope to lead them in the ways that I've been lead. To show respect, to work hard, to have integrity, and to have a fine moral standard. Who do you want people to say that you are? Do you want them to look at your children and say, “Well he/she was a very bad parent,” or do you want them to say, “Wow, that kid is super polite. He must have a great

As a single mother of four children, it is my responsibility to be a positive role model for them. One of my roles is instilling how vital a college education is towards their future, which was problematic since I lacked one myself. Therefore, because children learn through example, making the decision to acquire a college degree was a necessary choice. The challenge began when it was time to decide what field of study to target, what type of school to attend, and where I envisioned myself in the future.…

My father and uncles’ instilled a statement in my head from a young age that I will never forget. This statement is closely related to the Law of Legacy and very relevant to being a leader in the modern business world. The statement only consists of a few words, but these words are very powerful and if this statement is followed, your reputation as a leader will be respected and hopefully emulated. The statement is, “Lead by example, do what is right, be the best you can be, and treat others the way you would like to be treated.”…

As in life it is good to know where you stand, in the classroom the learners might say “what can we get away with...” I teach adults but they can just as easily flout some basic rules such as eating in the classroom and being punctual. This where leading by example can help learners follow good ground rules so my behaviour will be copied such as being…

Lastly, my philosophy on leadership is simple: lead by example, always help, and never quit. Quitting is out of the question for me. Using excuses instead of giving your best, giving up on something (or someone), or abandoning your responsibilities are things I absolutely do not believe in. Promoting excellence in others starts with promoting it in yourself. I have found from being in…

I am a great leader and throughout my high school career I have taken every opportunity I could to display this. For three out of my four years I have participated as a Muskoka Woods Leader. This required me to spend a week at a summer camp at which I would lead a group of grade 7s through a series of fun activities. Being a leader at this camp wasn't always fun and games though. I had encountered many situations with the grade 7s in which I would have to improvise and apply my knowledge of leadership to sort out. For example, during one of our games we would play, there was a little boy who was sitting off on the side not participating. I went over to talk to the boy to find out what was wrong. When I found out that he didn't understand how to play the game I knew exactly how to fix it. I brought him over to a corner and me and him played our own little one on one version of the game. I taught him how to play and I played with him until he was finally ready to join the other grade 7s. As well as being a Muskoka Leader, in my grade 11 year, I was a Link Leader for my high school. This was different from being a Muskoka Leader because this time I was working with grade 9 students who were entering high school. Throughout the year I worked with the grade 9s giving them secret tips and tricks about how they could survive their freshman year of high…

Leading by example should be done through actions and not only words. For example, George Washington during Valley Forge stayed with his troops during one of the harshest winters in 1777 with very limited food, shelter and clothing. He could have stayed in a better part of the camp, but he chose to deal with the same problems his men did. This was said to boost moral and earn him a great deal of respect from those around him. Another example of someone who leads by example would be Michael Jordan who played for the Chicago Bulls, he was one of the hardest workers on his team and encouraged those around him to be the…

Leading by example is setting the standards for those subsequent to you. When you set those standards you become a leader and that leader becomes an example. We have many people around us and some of us ourselves set the standards which is the example that we're leading by. I would have to disagree with someone that says leading by example is a fiction because you face the reality of it everyday. Our parents or guardians that raise us, were and still is leading by example. We look up to them when we are in need . Your manager at your work place is leading by example he is teaching and training you so you can be great ,just like him. Jesus was leading by example because he told his disciples to watch and learn for him ;when he isn’t there, they can be just like him. He was their example that they followed when he was gone. These are just a few examples of the reality of leading by example that we face each and every day . In all those examples someone was leading and someone was leading .You have to learn to humble yourself and learn to be sincere as an effective leader because what you do others will do too, they don’t have anything else except your example…

Through our discussion of servant leadership, I found that service to others is righteous goal that equates to tremendous levels of success. In our discussion I found myself lost in an introspective mission to understand what exactly motivated me to be a high achiever. The answer was my loved one and the concept of making other peoples lives better by helping them to achieve their dreams. Monetary success is an amazing feeling, however it is minimal when compared to the feeling of seeing someone that you mentor overcome challenges they thought were impossible. One skill that I have struggled in throughout my life was following orders but have always loved to lead. Now I understand that I can directly impact my ability to lead through first…
