Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III known as Noynoy Aquino or PNoy, is a Filipino politician who has been the 15th President of the Philippines since June 2010.
Following the death of his mother on August 1, 2009, many people began calling on Aquino to run for president. On September 9, 2009, Aquino officially announced he would be a candidate in the 2010 presidential election, held on May 10, 2010. On June 9, 2010, the Congress of the Philippines proclaimed Aquino the winner of the 2010 presidential election. In 2013, TIME magazine named him one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Although the official residence of the President is the Malacañang Palace, Aquino actually resides in the Bahay Pangarap (House of Dreams), located within the Palace grounds.

I really admire our present President because of his extraordinary way of running the country. Compared to other administration, he is really running after those politicians or officials who got our wealth illicitly. Though he’s a bit childish on the way he reacts to certain issues that plague his administration. When he talks about people who he thinks are corrupt, he usually goes into attack mode and lambasts them in front of his audience. Back then, a lot of Filipinos were shocked and disgusted with the way he acted like a toddler throwing a tantrum and hurling insults at those on hot seats like Corona who he insisted was getting in the way of his straight and righteous path towards good governance. For GMA, Pnoy said she should have done something about the transgressions during her term. For me, this is just but alright.

To most Filipinos, he is not good with his numbers either. He thinks that “billion” is lower than “million”. But that is not even the worst thing that the public can take away from many of his statement. Not only did he try to divert the attention of the media from the alleged pork barrel scam, it seems he is not giving

Way back 1970’s, that is, the deceased Benigno Aquino (Ninoy) had fight for the human rights against Former President Ferdinand Marcos that initiate the Martial Law occurrence. In that way I admired Ninoy for having a large contribution for our country. In that incident, most of the people suffered from Marcos that made the people put their trust on Ninoy. When he died on 1983, his wife, Corazon Aquino, on the latter part was elected and became the 11th president of our country, signifying the essence of freedom by the presence of the yellow ribbon.…

President Aquino on Monday, July 22, 2013 delivered his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA). They said that it was Pnoy's longest SONA so far but has been applauded less frequently compared to last year. The President began his SONA by recalling how he started, nearly four years ago, a group of influencial people persuaded him to run in the 2010 presidential elections just when her mother died, promising him that while serious problems chase the country and assured him they would help him face the challenges all the way, he recalled. But there is noticeable in President Aquino’s SONA, even from the 1st to the 4th is that he acknowledges the achievements of his cabinet members. This is one of the traits that a leader must possess, and our President has it.…

The May 2010 election was considered to be the cleanest and fastest elections in the Philippines since the restoration of elite democracy after the dark Martial Law years of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos. This is despite the controversies looming on the automated elections, the system glitches during the elections, the failure of elections in some towns, the reported massive vote buying, the reported pre-shading of ballots, the millions of disenfranchised voters, most of them first time voters, among others. These irregularities and actual election problems are seemingly left-out due to the convincing win, by a very large margin, of Noynoy-the expected winner according to pre-election surveys.…

On May 2010, Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Cojuangco Aquino III was sworn as the country’s 15th President before millions of Filipinos at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila, vowing to deliver the nation from poverty and wiping corruption that grip the administration of his predecessor, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. During the historic event, Aquino disclosed that on top of his priorities is to tend the culture of bad governance and for him to set a good example in getting rid of corrupt practices in public administration (Mabasa, 2010). A good speech, however, does not yet make a good presidency, and Aquino’s first appointments and policy decisions were awaited eagerly. Soon after the inauguration the administration announced an executive order fleshing out the constitutional guarantee on the people’s right to information.…

I’ve lived my entire life in the Philippines, not so much a feat I know, but more than that, I have dined with kings and queens on steaks and lobsters, and have eaten balut and fishballs with peasants and mobsters. So I can fairly say; I’ve seen a whole lot of the Filipino society. And if there’s one thing I have learned in all those years is that the worst critics of the Philippines and the Filipinos are not the racist Western Caucasians, nor are the high and mighty, (because of their oil) Middle-Easterners nor the blustering Americans, no! Their criticism is nothing compared to that of the Filipino’s scorn upon himself. How many of us have heard others, and even ourselves say these words and phrases, “ang mga Filipino kasi eh (insert negative characteristic/s here)” or “tayong mga Pinoy kasi...ganito, kwan... (insert negativity here) or SIMPLY say this in an EXASPERATED manner: “HAY PILIPINAS!”or “PINOY NGA NAMAN OH!”…

Filipinos are known for having ningas cogon, a mentality wherein when a Filipino starts something, they won’t be able to finish it. This affects all Filipinos since even the people who hold powerful positions in government are not exempted from it too. Politicians usually step in to remind people of the power they possess to fix the matter, and to find justice. Unfortunately, it does not take long before everyone loses interest, and the next big scandal is simply a day away. Before you know it, the politicians have moved on to other projects, and what was once a great big scandal is left forgotten and unsolved.…
