Leadership Essay : )
Today in our society, the word leadership is on every lip. Finding leaders has become one of the highest priorities in large and small organizations, from the community scout group to the top of any Fortune 500 companies. But how to define leadership and what should we be looking for in a leader? This paper is meant to be a summarized reflection of my leadership skills, experiances and whatnot.

My leadership experiance is limited to a certain extent, but I have however, some experiances; In sixth grade I was in the leadership program that they provided before school on certain days. As I got older, I realised that there were some people in our neighborhood that were unable to take care of their lawans because of a disability, or just pure neglect. I brought together a small group of neiborhood kids that agreed to help me go around and ask people if they needed any help with their lawn, garden, ect. At all of our church gatherings that i have been to in the last three years, i have contributed in at some degree. For the time that i have not been in a children’s church, I have been an assistant to whoever is in charge of the younger kid group whether it be; Anita, Olivia, My Older sister, or Jazlyn. I have learned to be considerate about how much work other people have to do when it comes to situations like this.

A leader has a vision. Leaders see a problem that needs to be fixed or a goal that needs to be achieved. It may be something that no one else sees or simply something that no one else wants to tackle. Whatever it is, it is the focus of the leader's attention and they attack it with a single-minded determination. A leader is someone who is humbly willing to lift a finger for anybody. My role model is Taylor Swift, she is a leader, not a follower; she is openly honet to everyone and she will speak her mind to everyone.

As a representative of the student body, I would participate in variety of student government conferences, meetings, summits and

As a SGA representative, I strongly believe that I can lend an open ear to those concerns, suggestions, and/or general questions of my fellow peers here at JMU. A vital aspect of the SGA is their commitment to serve the students and I am convinced that I can be the voice of the students here on campus. By doing this, I can also have the opportunity to let the students know where their student activities fees are going and ensure that they are put toward the best possible activities. Furthermore, I would like to work toward establishing new programs for the betterment of the student population as well as bring attention to lingering problems on the campus.…

When one thinks of a leader, what type of person do we think of? Is that individual a hero that we see on television, a cartoon character, a family member, or is that person a public servant? The inner strength of their leadership ability emerges”. (Gonzalez, 2007, February 1). The dictionary defines a leader as someone who leads. This definition in not helpful for anyone wanting to become a leader themselves because a leader is so much more than someone who leads. A leader has great virtues that allow them to obtain the trust of others. Through leadership experiences, one will learn the qualities needed to be a leader.
