Report: Koran vs. Bible

In history, there have been many different religions. However, only a few select religions have survived and are still practiced today. This report will compare and contrast the two most popular religions’ holy books- the Koran and the Bible.

The Koran is the paramount of Muhammad’s teachings. He is said to be the most important prophet of Allah, the Muslim’s god. While Muhammad was teaching, the Muslims, those who could read and write, wrote down what Muhammad taught. They wrote his teachings down on anything they could find; pieces of paper, leaves, stones, bits of leather, or clay. Then, Muhammad’s right-hand man, Abu Bakr, suggested that all the bits and scraps that had Muhammad’s

The Koran shows further signs of corruption with its description of “heaven”: Those who kill or are killed by unbelievers will return to the garden of Paradise (Koran 9:111), where they shall recline on jeweled couches face to face, and there shall be many lustful pleasures- immortal youths waiting on them with bowls and ewers and a cup of purest wine, sex with virgins, fruits of their own choice and flesh of fowls that they relish. The Bible has a totally different outlook: Those who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and submitted their lives to his Lordship will enjoy eternal bliss in heaven, where there will be no pain or sorrow, no disease or death. “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelations 21:8) In this section, it is learned that the Muslim’s version of heaven stems off of earthly and immoral desires in contrast to the biblical version, which is defined by eternal bliss and complete …show more content…
The Koran says, “Those who invoke a god other than Allah not only should meet punishment in this world but the Penalty on the Day of Judgment will be doubled to them, and they will dwell therein in ignominy." (Koran 25:68) and "Non-believers (Christians, Jews and all others) will go to hell and will drink boiling water" (Koran 14:17). The Bible says that unbelievers have a chance to be redeemed at any time of their life if they accept Jesus as their Savior. But, for those who don’t, It (hell) will be a place of misery and pain, where only the wicked will reside. And it will be eternal. There will be no escape, "No Exit." Throughout the Old and New Testaments, hell was described as a place of fire and burning. This "bottomless pit" is a "great furnace" in "outer darkness" (Mat. 8:12; 22:13), covered with a "mist of blackness (or, darkness)" (2 Pet. 2:17). "There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth." (Mat. 18:41, 42) God sends no one to hell; anyone who goes there, goes by choice. This final section sums up everything this report has previously discussed –Austin

Many religions have different beliefs on how the people of their faith will achieve salvation. On page 124 in his note to Mitsuko, Otsu states that he feels his God not only lives in Christians, but in people of other religions as well, such as Jews and Muslims. (Endo 122) A closer look at the beliefs of these religions that Otsu mentions proves each of these roads can not lead to heaven, as Otsu claims. In Islam, in order to get to heaven one must attempt to please Allah by following the five pillars of Islam. In Judaism, followers hold the belief that humans are not sinful by nature, and that a savior is not necessary to get to heaven. In Christianity, the only possible way to get to heaven is through Jesus Christ. Later in the note, Otsu…

Judgment is based on his life on Earth and whether he believed in Christ and followed his teachings. The Bible says: “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him (John 3:36)”. Hell is a torture chamber while Heaven is a glorious place which is beyond description and the heavenly abode of God the Father. Those believers who are saved by God’s grace will get to go to Heaven. The Bible clearly teaches that there are only two very specific possibilities for eternity; Heaven, and Hell. There is only way to make it to Heaven, and that is to accept the gift that Jesus gave us by dying on the cross for our sins. (1 Peter 3:18) The Bible lists the two possibilities for eternity as being either eternal life, or eternal punishment. (Matthew 25:46)…

Heaven exists for the souls that believe that Jesus Christ is their Savior and Hell exists for the souls that have rejected Jesus Christ as their Savior. Anyone can receive the free gift of eternal life that was bought by the death of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23). To receive the gift one has to believe and know that God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to this earth to save humanity from their sins through His perfect life, death and resurrection (John 3:16). When one understands what has been done, their life will be forever changed and will be evident through the act of sanctification. Sanctification is the product of a changed heart that their soul will spend eternity with their heavenly. Ultimately, the souls of humanity will end up either in Heaven with God or in Hell separated from God for…

There are hundreds of religions throughout the world but the two most examined seem to be Christianity and Islam. These two religions have been brought into the spotlight throughout the years but more recently so with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. People speculate on rumors of each religion but how much do we actually know? Unless you are a religious scholar, odds are you do not know any more than what the internet and television tell you. Each religion has its own view on creation, the end times, the afterlife and the behaviors its members must maintain in order to achieve a place in such. These two religions may have their different views but are they truly that much different? Over the next couple of pages we will take a look at each religion and their religious views and beliefs.…

A person with any intelligence at all will realize after a few minutes of thought that eternal life of any kind is a curse. So for religious people eternal life takes on two flavors, hell, and heaven; and for them these two choices are very black and white, or good, and bad. Their description of hell paints the picture of a mentally ill god that revels in the death and suffering others. Hell is an infinite punishment earned not through any particular sins or wrong doings, but for hurting the ego of god by "not believing in him". So to clarify I could cure AIDS, give money to charity, and be generally well liked atheist but deserve hell, while Hitler a Roman Catholic would make it heaven for believing in god. Now heaven for religious people is described as an endless paradise. What do humans really enjoy? On a basic level, good food, lots of sex, and entertainment. Isn't that what you look for in an ideal vacation? These three things take into account a biological body though; your "soul" doesn't eat, have sex, or enjoy a good movie from what I know of religious mythology. So religious people will often describe heaven is "being able to worship god forever for all eternity". Wow. That sounds pretty bad, I get to stay on my knees forever groveling and feeding the ego of god by telling him how great he is and how much I love sitting next to his foot worshipping him. When I use to teach high school science in Cairo Egypt the kids also had a religion class. Well one day I finished my lecture early and said "hey if you need to study anything go for it, Im done for the day", so one of them pulled out his religion homework. Out of curiosity I wanted to see what the kids were being brainwashed with when they weren't in my class so I said "what is this?". Well apparently they were learning about heaven (the Islamic variety probably filled with virgins covered from head to toe that have their fathers near them to cut off your head if you give them a second look...yeah the…
