Jon Persuasive Speech
Garfield is an orange, fuzzy, tabby cat born in the kitchen of an Italian restaurant and immediately ate all the pasta and lasagna in sight, thus developing his love and obsession for lasagna. Garfield hates exercise. He is known for saying breathing is exercise。
In addition to being portrayed as lazy and fat, Garfield is also pessimistic, sadistic, cynical, sarcastic, sardonic and a bit obnoxious. He enjoys destroying things, mauling the mailman, tormenting Odie, kicking Odie off the table; he also makes snide comments, usually about Jon's inability to get a date. Though Garfield can be very cynical, he does have a soft side for his teddy bear, Pooky, food and sleep.
Garfield Said.....

It’s not easy for me to express how proud I am to be here, with my Mom, my brother and my wife Lucy, and with all of you, at this amazing institution that is responsible for my very existence. I am thrilled for all of you, and I'm thrilled for your families and friends, as all of us join this great, big Michigan family I feel I've been a part of all of all my life. What I'm also trying to tell you is that I know exactly what it feels like to be sitting in your seat, listening to some old gasbag give a long-winded commencement speech. Don't worry. I'll be brief. I have a story about following dreams. Or maybe more accurately, it's a story about finding a path to make those dreams

Piggy is described as a "very fat" boy who has spectacles. Okay. I am not going to lie because I am somewhat worried about this murder. Everyone has the same pieces of information to use so therefore it is the tiny details that will allow me to survive. Initially, Ralph is described as "the fair boy" and Piggy is described as the "fat boy." "Fair" does refer to the lightness of his hair, but the word also means just, beautiful, and honest. These descriptions work out to be true. Piggy is fat, wears glasses, can't swim, and has asthma: all three are mild but real physical handicaps. These descriptions are accurate and the other boys will focus on these traits much more than they will on Piggy's mental abilities. Ralph is described as having the potential to be a boxer, so his athleticism is noted. In terms of physicality, Ralph and Piggy are opposites.…

How many of you know some people that drink alcohol. Well for me most of the people I know get drunk every day of the week. It doesn’t matter if they were hungry and they were down to their last three dollars, they would still choose to get a beer. Drinking alcohol looks like it almost took over the world but we still have a chance to stop it. All we have to do is make it illegal to use and purchase the liquid drug called alcohol. The reasons why I say this is because alcohol is very addictive, it causes health problems, and because it affects people’s judgment.…

Managing money is an important aspect in a person's life. In the book Managing Your Money: All-in one for dummies by Ted Benna, he mentions a great scenario of how you should treat money where he states, “Just as you have relationships with people in your life, you also have a relationship qwith money-- how you earn it, spend it, lose it and save it.” A disadvantage that we have in today's society is that schools are not equipping our students well enough with the knowledge of how to manage money. I strongly believe that this knowledge of money management should start in high school so that our students are better prepared when they get to college. In Scott Gamm’s article, College Students Lack Money Management Skills, Gamm states the fact of “Millions of students graduate from high school and head off to college with barely any financial knowledge.” Based on my friends' and my own experience this is true. Students are getting into debt early stage in their life because they have never learned how to manage their money properly. The earlier you are taught about finances the better the economic situation you will find yourself in the future. I would like to share some insight with you all of what I have learned in regards to money management that I hoped will be as helpful to you as it was for me.…

In the TED Talk, Rita Pierson said that creating connections with the students can help the teachers be more effective at their jobs. Making connections with the students will create a safer environment for the students to express their feelings without fears. Every teacher needs to be passionate toward teaching and dedicate their sweats and tears to guide the students toward their dreams. Teaching will be effortless if the teachers have an open-minded with everything because it will help them with different students with different ways of learning. Just like what Rita Pierson said before the video ended that “Every Kid Needs a Champion,” champions are the teachers and through the connections they made with the students, they can create a peaceful…
