PROPOSAL FOR RE-DESIGNING OF NEON ACADEMIC SUITE
Introduction:
NEon is the academic suite of one of the top universities of computer sciences in Pakistan, National University Of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Karachi. NEon Academic suite enables teachers to upload the attendance and grades of the students registered to respective courses, and the students to view their registered personal information, attendance in each course, grades, and the complete transcript.

Problem:
Althoug, NEon is the academic suite of one of the highest ranked university in Pakistan, it does not allow the students to register themselves online at home. The students have to waste their 2 days in order to get registered for the new semester.

Purpose:
The purpose of this proposal is to update the NEon Academic suite so that from the next semester students can register themselves online even from home.

Proposed Solution:
The problem can be solved by creating an other online portal linked with NEon that will allow the students to register. The flow of the process will be as follows: 1. The students will submit the demand draft at any bank affiliated with FAST. 2. Once the draft is submitted, the status of the fee submission on NEon will be submitted, and the next procedure will be enabled for the student to opt the new courses. 3. The student will login to the NEon Online academic suite from anywhere and will select the courses he/she wants. 4. Once the student click submit then depending on the number of vacancies the courses will be registered.

    Automation and online transaction is not relatively new here in our country and more so abroad. In fact it is a growing fad abroad and is beginning to crop up in our country gradually, where bank transactions, business dealings and buying and selling take place. It is very convenient to do online enrollment because one does not have to actually got to the school and cram in there together with the other enrollees. All it takes is a computer that has internet connection, and one can instantly enroll after following the instructions in the site. Online enrollment is to a certain extent in a new fad. Not many, in fact, only a handful of schools in the Philippines, particularly in Manila, cater to online subject enlisting and enrollment. Many await the enrollment schedule of the school they are studying in, when it comes they begin to rush and flock to school as soon as possible. Vacations are cut short, young ones are sometimes abruptly separated from the security and comfort of home and family just to be able to study in a good school, relaxation and leisure quickly put to an end that give way to the serious pursuit of study. For some, they opt for an extended sometimes coming to school on the last minute just to be with their loved ones a bit longer.
