It should be around in this block...aha! There it is! Roxie thought. It was four in the afternoon, and she just got out of school. She got a text from her best friend Pippy to come to her parents' Dunkin' Donuts quickly. Pippy was an energetic thirteen year old that still acted like a kid. Her curly, red hair tied in pigtails bounced constantly when she was happy. Roxie, meanwhile, was a tomboy with dark, shaggy hair and usually wears her soccer uniform to school. She goes to Pippy's middle school, but Pippy's in seventh grade and Roxie's in eighth grade, so they don't see each other often during school hours. Roxie knew that Pippy's parents died two weeks ago from a house fire, and it's been a hard time for her, so Roxie doesn't …show more content…
Roxie picked it up, and noticed that it was a text from Pippy. It read "you're next". What? Next for what? She was really panicking now. Normally, she'll just keep cool about it, but this was different. Knowing Pippy for about eight years, she knew that her friend could be really unpredictable. Things just got worse. After reading the text, Roxie heard a swooshing sound, along with footsteps. The footsteps seemed to be going around the entire store except the wall in front of her. The footsteps ended with the door being locked. She turned around, and she saw that all the blinds were closed. No person in sight. OK, this is just getting weird. She then turned back around to face the wall with the jelly donuts on the shelves, well, there used to be jelly donuts on the shelves. They were all gone, along with the donut Roxie took a bite on. She heard heavy breathing that wasn't hers. She turned back around and nearly had a heart attack. Right in front of her face was Pippy, but she was barely recognizable. Her entire body was covered in a cloak, and she was grinning a very wide smile. On her left hand was the jelly donut Roxie ate, and on her right hand was...well...it was a …show more content…
Oh, Pippy. I didn't recognize you. Um, why are you holding a knife?" "I want revenge," she replied carelessly. "Er...revenge on what?" "Oh, Roxie. You can be so clueless sometimes," Pippy giggled creepily. "In case you're wondering why I'm even here in this Dunkin' Donuts store, I wanted my parents' business to continue running. Of course, a donut shop can't run without donuts, so I stocked up these shelves with donuts that have my secret ingredient. You wanna know what the secret ingredient is? I'll give you a hint." She leaned over to Roxie's ear and whispered, "It's people." Wait a minute...the blood from the jelly donuts. Was the blood from her victims? Roxie thought. It all was suddenly making sense, and it looks like she was about to be Pippy's next victim. Unfortunately, it was a bit too late. Pippy grinned once more, dropped the jelly donut on her left hand, and suddenly pinned Roxie down. Her friend screamed, a blood curling scream, as she saw Pippy lift her knife up and come right down, targeting her heart. Roxie closed her eyes and took her final
