FRAMEWORK OF TRAINING
THE FRAMEWORK OF TRAINING CONSISTS OF:
* NVQ Diploma in chosen sector
* Essential skills AON and COMM level 1 or 2
* Functional skills English Level 1 or 2
* Underpinning Knowledge Certificate
* Personal learning thinking skills
* Employer's rights and responsibilities
All of the above qualifications are certified and will result in a certificate of apprenticeship.
WHAT IS THE QCF?
The Diploma in Health and Social care (QCF)
These qualifications are:
* Internationally recognised
* based on the Health and Social Care National Occupational Standards. The NOS, assessment principles and qualification structures are owned by skills for care and development.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THESE QUALIFICATIONS?
The purpose of the qualifications is to guide and ASSESS the development knowledge and skills relation to you occupational sector.
HOW WILL YOU QUALIFICATION BE DELIVERED?
Your assessor will arrange to visit you at least once a month in the workplace. It is your responsibility to attend the meeting that is arranged to ensure your progress through the qualification and uphold contract compliance to maintain your funding. If you are unable to attend due to illness or other reasons you must inform your assessor and rearrange appointment.
The training can be delivered in classroom sessions or learners can lead their own qualification through workbooks and meet with their assessor for feedback on work they have completed. Work can be emailed to your assessor before the arranged session for feedback.
At your session the following month’s sessions will be planned and agreed.
INDIVIDUAL LEARNING PLAN
This is a document that will be stored in your portfolio and is completed during the initial period of your qualification. It outlines:
* Planned completion / Target dates-agreed between yourself and your assessor.
* Where you are currently within the framework
* Maps where you should be within the framework
The individual learning plan is your track and this will be updates during the sessions with your assessor.
THE ROLE OF INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED IN YOUR LEARNING
WHAT IS AN ASSESSOR?
An assessor is the person who carries out all your planning/reviewing and will finally make a judgement about your competence. We aim for you to work with the same assessor throughout your framework; however, there may be times when another assessor may have to assist in your training so as not to interrupt your personal development.
WHAT IS AN INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURER (IQA)?
Their role is to quality assure the work your assessor is doing with you. They will see you at least once every eight weeks any may carry out an interview with you to see how you feel about your course. They may also look over your portfolio, giving support and feedback to you and your assessor on quality assurance and standards. NB. The internal Quality Assurer is not reassessing you but there may be time when additional work may need to be produced before certification is agreed.
WHAT IS THE STANDARDS QUALITY ASSURER (SQA)
The Standards Quality Assurer is appointed by the awarding body to visit the centre twice a year and look at a sample of qualifications to ensure standards are delivered as required by the awarding body. Your portfolio may...
