Introverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving (ISFP)
My personality type is an Introverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving (ISFP), which means I am introverted feeling with extraverted sensing. As an ISFP, I tend to be quiet, reserved and more often than not keep my feelings to myself. Due to my personality type, one of my biggest weaknesses is that I am non-confrontational to a fault and would much rather accomplish a mission with everyone originally agreeing and being on the same page rather than have to possibly put someone on the spot for being difficult to work with. I am going to use the fact that I took the personality test to my advantage and to the advantage of the organization I work for. I will do this by understanding that not everyone has the same personality type and realizing that …show more content…
I tend to be introverted, but it is not always the case. I am not comfortable in a large group of people I do not know and will far more often than not resort to being an introvert. This changes for me though if I am in group of family members or friends. I would not go too far as to say that I am an extrovert in those situations and surroundings, but I am far from an introvert and feel confident in saying that I am closer to being an extrovert than an introvert if I am comfortable with the large majority of people I am spending time …show more content…
I tend to depend much more on experience than I do just listening to the directions of others and trying to figure something out on my own. Paying attention to physical reality, what I see, hear, touch, taste, and smell. I'm concerned with what is actual, present, current, and real. I notice facts and I remember details that are important to me. I like to see the practical use of things and learn best when I see how to use what I'm learning. Experience speaks to me louder than words (Martin, 1997, para. 4).
I feel that I am no doubt more dominantly using sensing than intuition because I would much rather get hands on experience than to sit down for an extended period of time to try and figure out a

The Myers-Briggs personality type test is one of most used and respected psychological assessments. It contains 16 different personality types and is suppose to represent all the different types of personalities in the world. It is not uncommon for businesses, government jobs and other institutions to incorporate the test to see whether an individual would fit into the culture and atmosphere of the company. According to the test, I am a ESTJ (Extravert(31%), Sensing(1%), Thinking(28%), Judging(28%)), which matched some famous people such as John D. Rockefeller. I was surprised by how accurate the description of the suggested personality style matched my own.…

I personally identify with Intuitionism more, however I do tend to use both. For my job I rely on my intuition more. In the field of phlebotomy I can’t see where a persons vein may always be under their skin. I have to close my eyes and palpate, I rely more on what I feel. I have to go with my insticts instead of what I know. Knowledge can help you find the general area, but it is your instict that will guide you to the vein. This is very similar to what Lila Mae does with the elevator at 125 Walker. She know that this elevator has a faulty overspeed governer. She can feel this as “vibrations massaging her back”(6). She explains how “Everyone has their own set of genies. Depends on how your brain works”(6). For her they are geometrical shapes that she sees through the vibrations. For me it is like having “x-ray” vision where I can imagine looking right through someones arm by touching and being able to look at their veins. This is why I would say I am more of an…

I think at times my introvertedness can hinder me, but it can also be an avenue for me to develop more in order to be a better leader. I do think I have a quiet confident in my abilities, but I can be self conscious about what I do not know. I think in general by simply understanding the why behind the way I behave is really helpful to know, because it allows me to get outside my own head and almost look at my behavior from an objective perspective. I think realizing that by knowing my personality type and now being able to recognize similar traits in others will help me to interact and communicate with my co-workers better. I think learning not only your own type of personality but others as well is vital, because it lets you understand other individual’s tendencies and the “why” behind what they do as…

The psychology definition of introversion is a personality type where a person tends to be more inward turning and focuses more on internal thought, feelings, and moods rather than external stimulation. (Kendra Cherry, 2014) Introversion as a personality is most associated with people who prefer alone time over hang out with large groups of people. On the other end of the spectrum are extraverts. Extraverts are people who are very outward with their emotions and essentially the opposite of an introvert. Extraverts outnumber introverts three to one and an introverted personality is often viewed as a defect. Nothing could be farther from the truth. As an introvert I used to think there was something wrong with me because I didn’t have many…

Some of the self-assessment results I do not agree with, though it got me thinking if it might be one of the qualities I lack without knowing about it. One thing I know about myself is that I’ve come a long way in both my professional and personal relationships. Many of the accomplishments in my life I can attribute to my love for growth and productivity that were inherited and adopted from my parents and teachers. I developed a set of principles early in life that are close to my heart. I mostly agree with my results from the MBTI assessment. It reflects that my personality type is “ISTJ”, which is Introversion, Sensing, Thinking, and Judging. Introversion tend to be inward turning, or focused more on internal thoughts, feelings and moods rather than seeking out external stimulation.. My result reflects that I got a score of 1 out of possible 30, which means that I am only a slight introvert. Even though it takes me time to communicate…

I chose Deana, a friend who I would not have an issue describing her as an introvert. I would describe an introverted individual as one who mainly concerned with his or her own thoughts or feelings. Therefore, when I knew we had to pick someone that was our complete opposite I could not think of anyone better to interview than Deana was because we are different. I am very extroverted which most people think I am assertive, a socializer, friendly, and. confident, but an introvert; such as Deana is considered to be humble, reserved, timid, shy, bashful, quiet, and modest. When someone compares those two examples, they are on different ends of the spectrum.…
