Our group was assigned to carry out the duties as internal auditor to audit the operations of the Library. We have been undergoing the task based on our objectives. We have selected TAN SRI DATO 'Sanusi Junid, International Islamic College (IIC) Gombak library. On Monday, 13 August 2012, we went to the IIC and the library management was welcomed our presence. We have interviewed Mr. Muhammad Arif Bin Osman, which is the Executive Assistants. He was very helpful in terms of delivering the information that we want for achieve our audit objectives about the library operations and completing tasks. Our objectives are to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of internal control of library, to ensure proper segregation of duties exists within the Library Department’s and Finances Department. We also wants to ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulation about borrowing policies, to ensure that the librarian are follow the policies that provided by management. Lastly, as auditor we need to ensure that the book online borrowing system is effective. By this entire objective we already complete out assignment as an internal auditor.
1. BACKGROUND OF INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC COLLEGE (IIC) AND TAN SRI DATO’ SERI SANUSI JUNID LIBRARY
International Islamic College or in short, IIC, was established in the year 2000 as a private higher education institution. It is owned by IIUM, as a gateway to knowledge and erudition, is a full subsidiary of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Holdings Sdn Bhd. IIC purports or serves to educate, train and impart noble values to young men and women who aspire, who wish, who hope to be the next generation of professionals and leaders.
The Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Sanusi Junid Library provides resources, services and other related facilities to meet the learning, teaching and research needs of students and staff of the IIC. Efforts to develop the library collection have been made to achieve 60,000 collections of titles in the library and this is the main aim of planning of the library. The Library uses the Library of Congress Classification Scheme to organize its collections.
To assist academicians to get sources of references in IIC, the library purchases books, serials journals and Islamic collections. The library provides the collections in the form of printable collections to develop the facilities in the library to make it as one of the world-class place of reference, which collects a wide range of knowledge with quality reference in various languages. Staffs and students are qualified to borrow library items and reservation can be made at the circulation counter.
Services offered by the library include borrowing privileges to its members, information searching skills, internet facilities and reference. Other facilities that are also offered are the reading areas and individual study carrels. The library can be considered as a multi-use library which offers a wide variety of services for meeting users and demand. The services provided include as following:-

The need of the library to become virtual library which is enable user to get access to the information within campus or externally at any time.
The library is a “One Stop Knowledge Centre” to all community of International Islamic College.
