There is a dark force behind all the snuggly pictures of cats on the internet. A hidden agenda designed to make us feel warm and fuzzy when cats are around. It has been going on for years unnoticed, until now. It starts with what you think are, stray cats. She shows up at your house a few nights a week, meowing in hunger, making your heart hurt at the cute fuzzy hungry kitty. So, you give her some food. It shows up again, rubbing up against your legs with you say hello to her. You give her even more food and sit and pet her for a while. Eventually you consider letting the cat in the house. The cat knows this and aims for this to happen. Once you let the cat in, it is already too late.

First there is the look out. These are the everyday house hold cats. Constantly reporting in on the actions of day-to-day humans with ordinary lives. Sitting perched on the backs of couches looking out windows, watching every single move you make. Nothing you do goes unnoticed. When you are not home, they send in their reports to headquarters (located in a kitty space station currently in orbit over Central America, we will get to that later) using your internet connection and practicing their ninja moves for future attacks from behind the couch. They appear to depend on you like a brand new baby, continuously crying, unable to tell you what they need. (simile) They are amused by your need to try everything to please their relentless meow. Their reports consist of your comings and goings, you’re eating habits, your mating rituals and even what kind of tooth paste you use (cats believe in good dental hygiene). Every single thing you do is reported to their superiors who file them and keep a database of every single human being on this …show more content…

They had officially moved into the new frontier of technology. The mission was a success and is still going strong to this day. Never seizing to entertain the human race. "No pestilence had ever been so fatal, or so hideous. Blood was its avatar and its seal- the redness and the horror of blood" (1). Edgar Allan Poe was a master of the macabre; his very stories injecting fear into the hearts of his readers. Poe's life was filled with tragedy, as several of the important women in his life, including his wife and daughter died at a young age. He utilized poems and books to express that tragedy. The short stories, "The Black Cat," and, "The Masque of the Red Death," both written by Poe, enhance the theme of fear. "The Black Cat," was about a narrator who had gone crazy and was so overcome by guilt that he went to extreme measures including…

When I moved from the eastside to the westside of Dearborn in 2006, I felt distraught. I barely knew anyone that went to Bryant Middle School. I wanted to return home and talk to my friends that went to Woodworth Middle School, in East Dearborn. To comfort me with a pet, my brothers took me along with them to the Dearborn Animal Shelter. We combed through several cages containing cats; we saw an adorable three-legged cat, a beautiful calico cat, and some cute white kittens. We then came upon a cage containing a small white and black cat named Ring Leader. Ring Leader was 5 months old at the time. He was lightly shedding, climbing over the shelter worker, and feverishly looking around. Ring Leader seemed like an energetic and fun cat, so I chose…

I have been raised with cats all of my life but we never had a cat neuter or spayed. If one of our cats had kittens then we are responsible for taking care of them and we always managed to either raise them outdoors or find a home for them. Now that I’m raising a male cat indoors it’s a different view for me. I have notice 3 to 4 cats with collars on outside of my apartment complex that roam all day and night looking for food or mates and no one is taking care of them. The problem with the population of stray and homeless cats is overwhelming.…

With approximately sixty to one hundred million feral cats loose in the United States measures have started to be taken to lessen the number of cats we have in the wild. However, with the threat of offending animal rights activists there are only so many steps that can be considered humane enough to enforce. A feral cat can be defined as a cat that has been abandoned or a cat that was originally born in the wild. With the large amount of wild cats we have in the United States it has become a growing concern nationwide to those individuals who live near the populations of feral cats, and to researchers who are studying or protecting native birds and small mammals that the cats prey on. Researches have come to the conclusion that the trap, neuter and release, or TNR, of feral cats is the best way to reduce the amount of cats we have in the United States, while also being…

    Why Cats Are Bad Pets

    • 750 Words

Cats are a bit messy. They like to sleep everywhere, and leave their hair of the couch cushions, curtains, comforter, and your clothes. They walk on your ledges, and if you have picture frames, candles, or any type of décor, they will knock it over. It’s just a given, you’ll come home to your things on the floor. It seems like every time you’re walking, or in the kitchen, they are right there by your feet, weaving too and fro as you are trying to get from one place to the other. It’s almost like they are trying to kill you. They have no respect for your personal space. If you’re sitting on one end of the couch, taking up only one cushion, they will feel obliged to jump up on your lap and stay there till you have to move. If you do move, and come back, good luck getting back on their good side, because they want nothing to do with you. They have a lot of diva in them. One minute they want every little bit of your attention, and the next they want nothing to do with you and will hiss if…
