What is personality?
Personality is the total pattern of characteristic ways of thinking, feeling and behaving that constitute the individual’s distinctive method of relating to the environment.
Debate about how far the factors of heredity (nature) and environment (nurture) influence personality. There are two main approaches. 1. The nomothetic approach- personality is more or less fixed & various aspects of personality (traits) are the same from individual to individual. Individuals possess selection of these traits, which tend to go together in compatible trait clusters, effectively dividing people into personality types.
2. The ideographic approach-individualizes. Personality develops through interaction with the environment (experience) & in accordance with how the individual sees himself. Personality form therefore be studied only as a picture of a particular individual at a particular time.

As a result, express companies were founded and promptly expanded to fulfill the customers’ demands for a rapid, efficient and secure shipping service. In China, there are currently more than 1,000 registered express companies operating and offering logistics services to either individuals or organizations. However, it is true that various problems are existing within those companies, which lead to significantly negative impacts on organizational effectiveness and relationship with clients.     My workplace environment at one time was a pleasant place to be. All the employees got along and worked together very well. We were a team and like to help each other out when one was in need. It was like clock work. We would go to work wanting to be there to do our jobs because we all knew we would have fun throughout the day while we were working. Then a new manager or I will call him my supervisor joined the team. It was not planned, we knew our store needed some help but the employees did not know for definite when we would be getting a new supervisor. The first day was like any usual first day. Meeting the employees, learning the names and a little bit about each person. After observing my new supervisor for a couple of hours I felt as if he was in a hurry to get the first day work out of the way and leave. He did not seem the least bit interested in the people he was going to be working with for over eight hours a day. I blew off my thoughts and felt it was too early to judge the situation. Well I was wrong to blow off my feelings, because I was right to think something was not quite right about this man. During his training he did not want any one below his position to help him out. If he was having troubles with the computer he had to go to the General Manager or another supervisor even though the employees probably know the computers just as well as managers because we use them all day long. He would look for thirty minutes for something in dry storage before he ever asked an employee. I personally thought that was unusual, not asking for help unless it was management. It seems like to me that it would have made him feel less superior if he had to ask one of his employees for help. At that point I knew working with this particular supervisor would not be pleasant. Out of 299 stores, 83 chose this method. Program II is based on the management approach of sharing information about absences and sick leave and its impact on store operations, giving the employees an opportunity to act on things they can control. This program was selected by 27 stores. Program III is based on the sharing of information of sales and inventory without measuring the impact of absence and sick leave of employees. This method was selected by 35 stores. Program IV is more comprehensive combining Program II and III and includes weekly brainstorming sessions, in which employees make suggestion to improve sales and performance. This method was selected by 67 stores. Program V has brainstorming sessions in which employees are can make suggestion and state their ideas, without sharing other information. This method was selected by 87 stores. There are many independent variables in this case or experiment such as individual management styles, demographics of the store region, employee satisfaction, and employee tenure and employee age.     Every company has one common goal which is to maximize its profit margins or enhance productivity regardless of the field in question. However different companies approach this objective through different ways due to their internal structure, industry, size, business environment and other variables that form its organizational culture. The study of these mannerisms from management to employees can be said to be organizational behaviour. Sheetal Narkar defines it as “The field of study which investigates the input that individuals, groups and structures have on behavior within an organization”.9 It depicts the organization as a piece of machinery that has several parts that need to work cohesively for the machine to function properly.
