Đến giờ bổ sung vốn từ học thuật (academic vocabulary) rồi. Như nhiều lần ad đã nói academic words là không thể thiếu trong một bài essay. Nhiều mem than từ nhiều, nhưng yên tâm, chuyên mục vocab_academic được post cách ngày mà, mem có thể chia nhỏ lượng từ vựng ra học từng ngày rồi ôn tơi ôn lui chứ đừng nản chí nhé!

Từ vựng của ngày hôm nay là:

- assess (v) /əˈses/ to make a judgement about the nature or quality of somebody/something
E.g: In this first assignment, we will assess your work and then give you detailed feedback on how to improve your writing.
- dominate (v) /ˈdɒmɪneɪt/ to control or have a lot of influence over somebody/something, especially in an unpleasant way
E.g: In a seminar or tutorial, everyone should take part rather than allow one person to dominate the discussion.
- approach (n) /əˈprəʊtʃ/ a way of dealing with somebody/something; a way of doing or thinking about something such as a problem or a task
E.g: Rather than try to treat it, the best approach to the problem of the poor public health may be to attempt to prevent it.
- definite (adj) /ˈdefɪnət/ sure or certain; unlikely to change
E.g: Although it is impossible to give a definite age, we believe that the woman was between 25 and 30 when she died.
- potential (adj) /pəˈtenʃl/ that can develop into something or be developed in the future
E.g: Surprisingly, the biggest potential health risk for tourists travelling abroad is actually road traffic accidents.
- element (n) /ˈelɪmənt/ a necessary or typical part of something
E.g: Cost was a key element in our decision.
- compensate (v) /ˈkɒmpenseɪt/ to provide something good to balance or reduce the bad effects of damage, loss, etc.
E.g: Because Paris is expensive, many organisations pay higher salaries to compensate for the high cost of living there.
- subsequent (adj) /ˈsʌbsɪkwənt/ happening or coming after something else
E.g: Many people were killed instantly at Hirosima and
