Priyanka Patel
Key Club Speech
Hi! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Priyanka Patel and I am currently a sophomore. I’m running for the position of secretary and I have been an active key club member for the past two years. I’m proud to say I’m a part of Key Club. It’s not only because of all the great, new people I get to meet, but because I know that with everything we do to service our community, we are benefiting the world. Some don’t take that first step, but just by being in Key Club we all have taken that step, by becoming members of one of the oldest and largest service organizations in the world. As an active member of key club, since the beginning of freshman year, I have thoroughly participated in almost all of the events that Key Club has held. I believe that as the club’s secretary, I will work to the best of my ability to provide as much as I can for this club. The success of Key Club doesn’t only depend on the officers, but also the members of the club itself. For example, I will most definitely be able to bring more volunteering opportunities to the table to get all the members of this club actively involved. These events include Woodbridge Buddy Ball and many more community clean ups in our area! I will be sure to keep up with all of my responsibilities as secretary. If I am given the opportunity to be secretary next year, I will make sure to help lead this club to success. That is my promise, to each and every one of you.

Throughout my school years, I have always wanted to help in the community and make an impact to others therefore when entering my freshman year, I joined many different clubs but one stood out to me which was Key Club assists students in carrying out its mission to serve the children of the world. In the club, we do many acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. We also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and more so. It provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. One thing that impacted me from doing community work was the Eliminate Project which is a campaign to raise $110 million to eliminate…

After being a part of Key Club throughout my high school years, I learned how to give back to the community that has raised me and the conspicuous impact I can have in someone’s life simply through volunteering. Through Key Club, I help create service projects with local organizations and give members of our club an opportunity to volunteer and give back. One experience I will never forget is helping set up a blood drive in school with one of our local organizations, Bloodworks Northwest, a local blood bank that helps saves lives through research, innovation and education in blood. Our Key Club had to inform the school of the event that was happening, and encourage students to donate blood. It required hours of creating posters, informing the…

Chartering and being in charge of a club can be very rewarding, but there can also be a plethora of obstacles that have to be overcome. I am the president of the Best Buddies program – a program that seeks to increase interactions between people with and without special needs – at my high school, and I was the first person in my county to charter this program which was back when I was in the eighth grade. Being the President of this specific club is very challenging and unique: it requires you to work with a wide variety of students – in the mainstream setting and those with special needs – and those students’ parents. From these challenges, I learned the value of persistence and the importance of keeping to your word no matter what life…

Bringing people together encouraging human unity is a gift. Participating in service demonstrates that a person cares for others. There is no measurement for service to society, it is what helps to make the world a better place. I provide service regularly at my church, City Of Faith Church Of God. The congregation inspires me to give as much of me to them, as I possibly can. Working at. The church food pantry brings me joy.feeding citizens who are without the basics, food, and seeing the look of relief on their faces is one of the greatest experiences. Additionally, preparing for the culmination of "Child's Month Celebration" has been a lot of fun. Designing the logo based on the theme of "Be A Winner and Join The Race" was a fulfilling role. As a nominee of the National Honors Society , my mind overflows with ideas of how we can serve in our community. Some tasks we can fulfill include visiting the elderly. I am certain that they would appreciate and enjoy us going to read and/or listen them. Helping to clean our school environment would also be a good use of our service. In addition, I believe that academic tutoring from members of the Honors Society to students at NFA, other schools in the district, and the public library would be very useful and effective. Our service is important and would be very effective in our…

ADD SENTENCE. The last reason I wish to become the Secretary of SOTA is because of my grade level. Next year I will be a junior, and it will be my first year of occupational therapy courses. As a underclassman, I will be able to bring new and innovative ideas that will help improve SOTA, and I will be able to retain my involvement in the program for the next three years. This stability will allow me to develop new ideas and plans for SOTA both for the present and years to come. These three reasons have shown why I want to become Secretary of SOTA, and now, I will share why I would be a worthy candidate for the position. As secretary, it is important to be organized because their responsibilities include tracking dates, taking notes, and updating the SOTA website. My organizational skills are precise and systematic. In early September, the officers and a few members at our school’s club rush were able to get over 100 people to attend our first meeting of the year, and out of this large number of people we officially got 116, most of which were new members, and this was 12 members greater than last term’s roster. With our new members who were eager to be apart of Key Club, us officers were able to use new methods to improve our club. For example, we required members to have 10 hours of service to go to Key Club, but by participating in fundraisers they were able to reduce this number by a total of 5 hours. Due to this, our club in the month of September and October was able to gain more than 500 hours and raise more than $800 for PTP, which was the most raised out of all the other clubs. Additionally, we took about 25 members to Fall Rally, which is double the amount from last term, and all of these members to this day have remained fairly…

My name is Kaleigh Gonzales I’m a 15 year old sophomore and I’m running for the 2014-2015 officer position of reporter for Armwood High Schools FFA Chapter. I feel I should be selected for this position because not only am I a people person but I am also extremely organized. I think this would make me be able to effectively and efficiently get the Armwood FFA’s chapter name known to the public. I would also try to do this by doing any and all public service projects we can get our hands on, then publishing our successes. I believe that to make a difference you have to be known and respected by the community around you. In the past three years I have served as Vice President for Burnett Middle School for two terms and Treasurer for Armwood high school for one term. In this time I’ve competed many events including forestry, land judging, vet assisting, OCC, creed speaking, and extemporaneous public speaking. By doing this I’ve gained lots of experience and love in our great organization. I believe to be this year’s reporter I have to not only work on our clubs public media aspects but also work hard in competitions to win and better our chapters’ reputation. If I were to describe the technique in which I lead I would have to say that I plan , I tell others my plan , and then I depend on my team to help me. They tell me where they specialize in and what they want to do for me, and we work form there. I try to let people do what makes them happy while still helping me. I can make a personal promise that I will always work my hardest to make FFA my top priority, a position like this requires my full attention. My other activity I engage in is that I am a First sergeant of alpha company in JROTC, this means I am the second in command of one of three company’s in our schools only JROTC battalion. I promise that my responsibilities there will not interfere with my responsibilities regarding FFA. Some activities I want to do this year are competitions like OCC and…

Peers, I want to talk to you today about a very serious topic that has interested me for a long time, and it could be the most important thing you learn about driving, but may have only been briefly addressed in driver’s education. We have all seen the ads. The driver’s takes his or her eyes off the road, and three seconds, maybe four, the driver’s life is changed forever by a horrible accident. These are hard images to grasp, and the scary thing is that it could happen to absolutely anybody. You need to understand that driving is a substantial responsibility, and if you choose to text while driving, you are putting not only yourself, but other drivers and pedestrians at risk. Our government has been applying patches and palliative to this issue, but it is time for a final decision. As an active member of this liable society, I strongly believe this is a social problem; therefore it is the national government itself that, through its representative institutions, should pass a law at the federal level that states that all cars that traverse the U.S.A have a non-removable microchip, which would neutralize the driver’s phone’s ability to text.…
