I Volunteer As A Student Ambassador (NPS)
A year ago, I volunteered as a student ambassador in NPS. Each team has five members, and there was a mission to make two plans for a publicity campaign and put them into practice in a month. I was given a name as “A little Steve Jobs” by fellow members due to my creative and affable personalities, as I shine especially when I had to present in public. For instance, once there was a project regarding social contribution. I suggested to do fundraising by selling bracelets to keep mosquitoes away at Banpo Park, which is famous for summering place. We fundraised for our mission wearing uniforms with “NPS” logo for reducing people’s aversion (aversion is a strong word, is it this serious?) to us. My role was reaching out to people because I am

I am honored to be considered among the superior academic students at MCC and to be applying to the National Honor Society. If I am accepted into the National Honor Society, a service obligation that I would like to propose is collecting items for the babies and mothers in the Genesis House here in Melbourne. The Genesis House is a donation run organization that not only helps pregnant mothers, but also mothers who have newborns or young toddlers. I feel that this project would make an impact on many people’s lives. Most people in our world today believe that people in the Genesis House of Melbourne are fine because they have the volunteers there to support and care for them which sadly, isn’t always the case.…

As a team, we started off by establishing that we wanted to work with a non-profit involved with refugees and immigrants. This is because it is currently one of the biggest topics in the United States and the presidential debate. We became a group because we all were individually passionate about the issue and wanted to make as big of a difference as possible to help immigrants integrate into American lifestyle. We then met up, got to know each other a little bit better and how we work in teams, and finally started to research some non-profits in the local area. After researching for a brief while, we decided to pursue working with Higher Ground International, which caters to refugees coming to America from Western Africa. Our team leader went on to contact some board members from Higher Ground, and they wanted to get to know us better. As a result, we volunteered at a Cultural Gala they hosted at a hotel in Providence. After volunteering at this gala, we learned more about this organization and some potential problems that we may want to fix with our project.…

The four pillars of National Honors Society, scholarship, service, leadership, and character, have paved a path for me as a student and as a person. Scholarship has taught me to strive to be the best student I can be. I use scholarship to keep up with my school work and never give up when a class is hard. I always strive for the best grade I can get and I will stop at nothing until I reach my goal. I will continue to use scholarship as I go to college and pursue my dream as a pediatric dentist. I will study, I will learn, and I will never give up no matter what happens along the way. I use service when I volunteered to help my local private school. I was never asked to do so, but I felt as if I was giving back to a school that had done so much…

I was awarded a wonderful education at Windham High School, but beyond the information I retained, I also learned what is important in life. At first, I thought all that mattered was the clothes you wore, what makeup you had on, and who you were friends with. There is more to life than all that. I love helping others and my induction into the National Honor Society allowed me to do just that, especially in my four service projects I had the opportunity to lead and be a part of. I try to please people and make sure they are always happy and I now know it is most important to give back to the community who gave me so much.…

Due to my willingness to confront injustice and take action, others describe me as a confident leader. For the past two years I have seen the emotional struggle that hundreds of families have faced through my work at the Ronald McDonald House. Because of this, I have dedicated my time to preparing and serving them dinner on a monthly basis. While working at the House, my peers noticed my willingness to do any task that needed to be done because I was confident in my ability to learn something new, no matter how difficult it may be. Because of this, I was chosen to be the co-leader of the project. It is easy to say that my confidence has given me the ability to support the causes I believe in through both service and…

Throughout my education, I have taken part in a wide range of activities. Including assisting with sports day, school shows, mentoring GCSE students and participating in Debating Society I believe has helped me develop basic advocacy skills. In Autumn 2014, I took part in the National Citizen Services; this empowered me to develop leadership skills. I gained valuable skills in life such as public speaking, teamwork, communication skills and community service. I feel that my NCS experience not only provided me with many skills that are key to success at university but in addition gave me the certainty and confidence to go and take part in other opportunities. For instance, I talked about my NCS experience in front of the year 11 students at…

Let me give you some details. The organizers are a group of people who call themselves 'The Millennium People’. They are basically teachers, trainers and leaders from various social groups who have come together to help young people to excel. The camp was from 1st of December to 9th December. It was a three day outdoor activity camp. We went to the camp by bus and later got into a ferry that took us to the Pangkor Island. There were about 120 participants with 12 trainers. The camp was conducted in the west of Pangkor Island. It was so quiet and peaceful, overlooking the beautiful hills. It was a superb place for us to unwind and discover ourselves. There were little chalets reserved for us.…

On our program, I’ve experienced new things like helping people and thus communicating to them and also have fun. We enjoyed our little time with them and even it just a short time I felt that I’ve made new friends again. At first, I wasn’t sure if I can participate with the class and so with the group because it was actually my first time experiencing that kind of approach. In the place where I was used to which is overseas we didn’t even have that kind of program. That’s why I am really glad and shocked that I did it, I really approach them and talked to them. There were some rules that were informed to us before we enter to their home and we understood that especially I and I respect them for that. I admit that I don’t have enough self- confidence to have a conversation yet for myself I did great because I even introduce myself with a smile on my face and on top of that they remembered my name when our professor asked them what is my name. On my personal view aside from that it is required for our NSTP102 I want to know them more and be friends with them even for just a short time because I cannot promise that I can go back at Bahay Pag-asa because like the guards informed us “Don’t promise anything to also avoid being hurt or down”. I will do my best in fulfilling what I have to and thus overcome my fears and I hope at the end of our program we enlightened them with their hearts open for a new adventure, a new beginning.…
