I have always marveled at the fact that how man makes technology and technology makes man. It is this give and take relation that have led human race to the success it has attained today. The ever growing dependency of man on technology has proved that we cannot exist without technology. This very fact caught my eye as a child as I optimistically wondered when will I be able to make my contribution to technology.
We all have been operating computers since years now right since school, then in college, home and office using it to either make a simple word files, play games, surf the internet or use complex software for business needs. How such huge quantities of data so crucial to us can be stored in a single pen drive or a hard disk, how you can remotely access your data through cloud, all such great advancements makes me more of a fanatic for storage. In my third year I studied about Database Managements Systems which added to my knowledge about data and then in the final year I took Information Storage and Management as my elective subject in which I got thorough knowledge about different storage networks and storage systems and learnt how to design a storage system using appropriate network, intermediate devices, storage arrays and protocols keeping in mind the cost, availability and performance of the system. I also studied the storage system of my college and some other storage systems of EMC. I am currently learning about Data Warehousing and Mining and have also taken up Cloud Computing as the latest elective which will further strengthen my knowledge about …show more content…

Rao I worked on the designing of the IIMS (Integrated Institutional Management System) software in which I bought to use many of the concepts and design principles I learnt during my engineering

To better understand how we relate ourselves to the technology we have nowadays and the technology that we have been exposed to in the past, we first analyze the book “Beyond Humanity” by Allen Buchanan. In this book, Buchanan explain enficices the idea that technological improvements are not new to us, he says “... to enhance human beings is to expand their capabilities- to enable them to do what normal human beings have hitherto not been able to do. For example, literature as one of these enhancements allowed us to communicate information more efficiently, it allowed us to store more information than our brains ever could; this came at a cost, because we are able to write down information or communicate it easier, our…

Those who identify themselves as technological determinists believe we as humans have remarkably little control over technology and the effect it has on the world. Just two months ago, I passionately denied this point of view and identified myself as a social constructivist. Perhaps it is the idea of not being in complete control of my decisions that I did not want to accept. However, after completing the challenge of going twelve hours without technology, I quickly learned that my thoughts on technological determinism were not in line with my experiences. The fact is technology has become an integral part of day-to-day life. Truly understanding the effects and dare I say, control, that technology has on life, twelve hours without it will certainly enlighten each one of us. In the following pages, I will attempt to describe the challenges of my day without technology. Furthermore, I will attempt to interpret how my experiences relate to my relationship with technology and society. Ultimately, my purpose is to identify events which support or defy the view of technological determinism and understand the driving factors behind them.…

Have you ever wondered who were the first people to create some pieces of technology, like the cell phone or the mouse, maybe your videogames that you play? Well I am going to tell you who created what and how technology has changed our lives. Technology is a broad concept that deals with a person’s usage and knowledge of tools and crafts, and how it affects a person’s ability to control and adapt to its environment. Living in a modern society, technology has changed the world in an optimistic way, making many lives easier, safer, and better. To some extent, technology is inseparable from our lives. Through the years, technology has continuously bettered lives, even though there are incidences of the contrary.…
