High School Graduation
High School Graduation Graduation is an exciting time in a person’s life, especially a high school graduation. For most people their graduation day is one of their best day of their lives. No more high school, and for some it means that they are able to move on with their life and live on their own as well as embark on the independent journey of college. In my case, when I think of family and friends gathering to celebrate a joyous occasion. I feel like I accomplished my strongest goal. It never occurred to me that graduation would be the end of my youth and the start of my adulthood. Graduating from high school was an influential event that gave me an altered outlook on my existence. Although, my graduation day started out not so well, but ended up being one of the best and the most memorable days of my life. In the beginning, it started out like just another day, there were three days left till the big graduation day. I remember I was sitting in ceramics class with my friends and listening to the announcements as the principal was telling the senior class to pick up their cap and gowns I couldn’t believe the moment has finally come, it just seemed like yesterday I started high school getting lost while I tried looking for classes or asking someone for help. My friends and I started to talk about all the high school memories we had from freshman year till now, we were laughing and giggling while we talked about some moments we had. We just tried to have fun and enjoy

the last class we had together for the last time. As the day was going by I kept thinking about graduation day and all you could hear everyone talking about is graduation day. Everyone was pretty excited to graduate high school and start a new life and meet new people. As lunchtime came all the senior’s rushed to the quad to pick up their cap and gowns. Our principal Mrs. Peterson called out everyone’s name and proceeded to hand them their cap and gown. Everyone was so excited that most people

I dreaded the alarm that woke me up at 6:30 in the morning. It was as loud as a screaming toddler that could be heard for miles. I groggily got out of bed and got ready for my first day of school. It was a weird feeling not putting on a uniform like I had been for the past nine years, but I also enjoyed that freedom. The nervousness became more and more intense as I could closer and closer to campus. When we arrived, I got out of the car, and watched my dad drive off to go take my younger sister to school. There was no going back now; I had no other choice than to walk through those doors. I felt like my throat was in my stomach. I noticed some familiar faces, and I walked towards them. While I was approaching my friends, a senior, facing toward me, walked passed. He must have been at least six feet tall, which was incredibly intimidating for me at just over five feet. I was not used to the fact that I’d potentially have classes with these giants. Additionally, the array of new teachers, and having to learn all of their teaching styles and things they did or did not tolerate was hard in…

David McCullough uses very good examples in this speech. McCullough points out that marriage can be taken away and never thought of again, but your high school diploma will carry on with you forever. Regardless of what you do from here on out, you will always be a high school graduate. McCullough says, “From this day forward truly in sickness and in health, through financial fiascos, through midlife crises, through diminishing tolerance for annoyingness, through every difference, irreconcilable and otherwise, you will stay forever graduated from high school, you and your diplomas as one, ‘til death do you part”. Your diploma will show for that every day. Graduation is a special moment. Your class is united as one receiving the same award and dressed the same. The only thing different is your name. McCullough says that every person is not special but is different in his or her own way.…

A bunch of my family members was at my graduation. They were very excited for me and cheering very loud because I was about to get my high school diploma. When I got to the gym, everybody was getting ready to walk to the football field. I was thinking that I had finally succeeded and reached the day I had been waiting on since ninth grade. I was happy that I finally reached my goal to graduate on the night that ended high school life and started my college life. Everyone was always asking me what I wanted to do in college after graduation, but I was not sure because I like to cook different things. It is always fun to try…

I am the one in the picture with the sloppy bun in my hair and the bright red cheeks. The one who can't stop smiling. With all my friends surrounding me, it was one of the best days of my life. All fifteen of us look happy; it was a night for many smiles. Everyone is crowded around the table. There are a lot of red cheeks in the picture; the room was as hot as a sauna. There was a strong smell of barbeque sauce in the air as well. The picture was taken right after dinner. The table we are crowded around is messy. There are a lot of cups on the table and bottles of ketchup and barbeque sauce, with dirty, green napkins piled up. The restaurant was as noisy as the circus when the clowns perform. There were a lot of pictures taken that night, but out of all the pictures, this is the best one taken of everyone. Crouched down in front is Brent Dana. He has a grin on his face more than a smile. Brent hates pictures, and he doesn't smile in any of them; he is wearing his red "Rag Tails" shirt that he always wears. Next to Brent is Jade Walker. She has her hair back and is wearing her red "North Face" jacket. Jade has an adorable smile on her face. Next to Jade is Mary Attaway leaning over the table wearing a flowered backless shirt with a black sweater. To the right of Mary is Laura Jones. Laura is slightly leaning her head toward her right shoulder and is wearing a blue shirt with a drawstring tie in front. Laura has her arm around Erica Farnsworth, who has a yellow shirt and white jacket on. She looks especially happy; she is smiling from ear to ear. Starting in the left hand comer (in row two) are Chad Phillips and Caitlin Pollock standing together. Chad has his arms around Caitlin's waist. He has this cute little grin, and Caitlin has a huge smile and rosy red cheeks. Brittany Wilkins is next to Caitlin with a puzzled look on her face, the face you would see in a hard Algebra II exam when you don't think you even learned what the question is asking. To the top right of…

May 19th, 2013 I had dreamt of that day for almost four years. I know I can’t be the only person who feel this way. I remember it as if it was just yesterday. The first few months of my senior year in high school were normal. I participated in all of our school activities, like football games, class meeting, senior activities; you name it I was there. Anyone who walks in to the building can just sense the happy vibe, no matter what happens outside of the building, whether you have had a bad morning, or problems at home. The school was a cheerful place, where you could escape from all the negativity in life, well at least that's what I thought and felt about it. Everyday I dreaded getting out of bed in the morning, most days at that. I was lucky to be in Mrs Wedlich's 12th grade English class. Walking into her classroom was like walking into a movie. She was a spiritual teacher and does things like always keeping some thyme somewhere in the classroom. If you ask her about the thyme, she would look up at…

Being glum was never the best way to start my day. Like always, my mother yelled for me to get in the car as my shoulders were drawn down as I slouched, and I was staring at the floor as I headed down the stairs. While I was getting in the car, I tried my hardest to hold in my emotions. I blinked a few times and pondered of happy thoughts, hoping I would find it beneficial. I arrive at school, once again in a timely fashion, but instead of doing work, today we were going to be having a more social day. This is when we would all play games, go to the fields, and socialize. These days were amazing, because it was the only time we were free and had the best time of the school year. Time flew by so quickly that it hadn’t been until one of the administrators blew their whistles, indicating for us to head back to the cars, and students picking up their things, that I realized the day was over and I had to say goodbye. I was a wreck. My eyes just flooded up with tears, my hair was frizzy, and I just wanted to stay put and never move. My friends questioned me if I was okay, and that's when I nervously and gloomily told them the news. It was extremely difficult telling them. I gulped so many times just to get some words out and they would just not make their way out of my mouth. Right after I told them, we started hugging, which lasted for a long time until another one of the…

When I was seventeen, I dropped out of high school. For me this was not a good choice, and as time went on I regretted not finishing school. In 1999, five years after I dropped out, I decided to get my GED. The day the mail came and I opened up the envelope with my GED inside of it, I was the happiest person on the planet. I called everyone I knew to let them know I would be having a cap and gown ceremony. Words cannot describe the joy I felt at knowing that I had finally finished school. This day will be a day that I never forget.…

The day was going to be busy, cleaning and straightening up the house, since we were hosting a pre graduation dinner at my house for all of my family members that were going to be attending the graduation later that evening. A few hours of cleaning the house for the dinner went by when I decided to just sit back and relax and think about the huge step in life that I would soon be taking. I sat around thinking about all my grade school years and all the friends that I had met and realized that my high school years were about to be over and finished with.…

Hello, my name is Zoe. I am here to tell you about the most memorable moment of my high school career… so far. For me, as with many of you in this room, high school is approximately half over. Four of the most important years in one’s personal character developments, some would say. We meet friends that we will never forget; make enemies that we will seemingly never forgive, memories that we will take with us to the end of our days. Good memories and bad memories, high school memories tend to never leave our memory banks. It doesn't always have to be the most exciting memory, as some memories occupy our thoughts for no apparent reason. As I thought about this topic, and tried to narrow down my most memorable, school related, memory, I realized that if I had to spend so much time pondering it, it probably was not that memorable. So the memory that strangely seemed to not leave my thoughts came from a class that others would most likely try to forget. But how could such a good memory come in a class that was not good at all? Well, the things that made it so special was, for starters, the very fact that I enjoyed the class which I had dreaded all semester, the friends who were able to experience it with me, and the newfound attitude I had in that class afterwards.…

Graduation is something many teenagers look forward to as a chance to begin a new chapter of their lives. I looked at it as an escape from hell. In high school I was a different person, an angry person, who struggled so much I was sent to a resource room where I would get extra help on tests and homework. Even with the extra help I still failed a lot of my classes which resulted in me needing to attend summer school after my freshman year.…
