Health Care Persuasive Speech
Thank you members of Congress for your time and consideration. I come today to speak on an issue very near and dear to me. As a preprofessional student at the University of Notre Dame, I aspire to work in the health care system and to provide medical services to those most in need. Here, in the US, one of the wealthiest countries in the world, there’s an issue in providing health care to our most vulnerable. As I see it, a silent and growing majority of our citizens can no longer afford insurance and/or see health care access fading away.

I find this to be unacceptable. Health care is a right not a privilege. In a growing world of uncertainty, one should have the reassurance of access to medical care and its affordability. I believe that health

Over the years of our countries history, the delivery of our health care system has tried to meet the needs of our growing and changing population. “We hold these truths to be self – evident that all men all created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.” The United States is upholding the principles of the Declaration of Independence by providing Americans with a Health Care system and not doing so by providing quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare to our citizens.…

Thank you for your informative post. You stated “Health care providers, allowing illnesses to worsen, rather than taking care of the issue at the time could potentially lead to a rise in health care cost due to unnecessary doctor visits and care for further complications.” I agree with your statement. The longer health care providers allow patients to suffer without surgery can cause the patient to visit the doctor unnecessarily because of pain. The unnecessary visits could cause an increase in tax and health care for individuals not insured by Medicaid.…

This is the United States of America, land of the free. Good health care is a right, not a privilege. Healthcare (including public health) is special because it protects normal functioning, which in turn protects the range of opportunities open to individuals (Daniels N. 2001 pg.2). Currently President Obama has been trying to change the way health care is approached in the United States. He is facing quite a bit of opposition in his ideas that the government should provide health care for all Americans. No matter what your stance is on President Obama 's healthcare plan, we all realize that it is better to have health insurance than not. With prescription-drug costs being so out of control, many people have to choose between food and their prescriptions. Which is just not right, the fact is that health care is out of control.…

I understand that you, along with congress, work hard to address important issues. I want to commend you for all the work you have done and are doing. Unfortunately, I’m writing to ask if you and congress members would kindly give a little more thought into health care reform. The good outweighs the bad in this case.…

American liberty is a rare diamond in the world. To find a culture like us would be extremely tedious and we most likely would never find one which would have been showered with equivalent blessings as us. The color that our founders splashed into the fabric of our country, is coveted by all no matter how much they deny it. As we all may know, freedom isn't a life without government. Human nature demands a government to keep us all in check and to continue life in relative peace. Too much government and there is tyranny and too little forms anarchy. A gray balance is what the founders sought for. Beyond the expectations of the mocking outside world, they created a government which kept the freedom for people to follow their own desires and…

In some cases, you have to ask yourself, that if I become ill, should I have to pay someone to take care of me, despite the fact that they chose to go into the healthcare profession and supposed to have so much passion and compassion for the sick. To me that doesn’t seem right under any circumstances at all, because if a person feels passionate about helping someone, then they shouldn’t be holding their hands out for anything in return, except for a simple hand shake or thank you. And unfortunately, I have actually witnessed people being turned down and away from receiving healthcare services, because of the kind of healthcare insurance they have or for not having medical insurance at all. So in my eyes, I don’t think that anyone should be prohibited from healthcare services for any reason. But you have to remember that this is America and this is the way it operates and treats its loyal citizens, who have worked hard all their lives…

In the video Dr. Eduardo Sanchez, clearly point out ” America pays more money on a per capital basis for supposed health care that any other country in the world, and whether you look at mortality, infant mortality, morbidity rates, other kinds of measures of health, American do not stack up anywhere near the next highest spending country. So with this being said should America ensure that all of its citizens have healthcare. Some might agree that healthcare is a privilege, not a right. Now let’s contemplate on a situation that makes these individuals feel this…

    3. A report from Alberta’s Workplace Health and Safety confirms the death of a young landscaper working for the city of Edmonton, was caused by a distracted driver who never seemed to realize she had hit him. The landscaper was working on a clear and sunny day on July 24 when a Honda Civic crashed into him. According to witnesses, the young man was clearly visible. Some said the woman was holding a cell phone and seemed to be texting before getting out of her car. “The driver did not even know that she had crushed a landscape worker. There…

Attention Getter: I would like to start my presentation off by telling you all to ask yourselves a series of fairly straight forward questions. I want you to take a look at you’re, any hand and ask your selves “Who’s hand is this?” Do the same with your other hand, and now both legs and your arms if you would like. If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms. What I am trying to get through to you all today is that your body is your body and that a person should be able to profit of his or her own body if done in a safe and controlled way.…

We have watched the face of healthcare change into a business amalgamation. Political spending by the health industries has increased 73 percent since 2000. Health interests contributed $94 million to candidates for Congress in the 2008 cycle. Major health care interests have spent $1.4 million per day this year lobbying Congress. Zaharoff (2009) “Cream Skimming” or “Cherry Picking” of the healthy and denial of health to the sick are what have been left. Systems of health maintenance organizations (HMOs) have sprung up to contain cost but have a focus on “…powerful self-interest in eliminating the inappropriate care” Folland (2013), S. We have to ask ourselves, what right do businesses have in determining what is inappropriate care? Most insurance companies today still hesitate to cover pre-existing conditions in order to keep the insured population less expensive and in turn health suffers as the sick get less…
