HEALTH AND SAFETY – OHS1 Health and safety is very important. In order to have a safer life we should be careful at every step that we take. Unfortunately it is not enough when only we are careful. Everyone around us should be careful as well for themselves and for the others. In that way everybody can have a better, healthier and safer life so nobody worries when they go outside. Health and safety is very important both in general and workplaces. In general, it is not possible to talk about a healthy and safe life. At every step of our daily lives something bad can happen and it just takes a second. As I mentioned before it is not enough when only we are careful. We can be careful at home but when we go outside we expect the others to be careful like us, which is impossible especially in Turkey. Since we live in Turkey we should be more careful because we are not safe in Turkey at all. I can say that depending on the terror actions that we hear almost every week, interesting accidents that we hear almost every day, car accidents that we hear almost every hour and other possible accidents that we may hear any minute. We are not safe in Turkey obviously and most of the citizens do not care about it. Most of the citizens do not follow health and safety rules until something bad happens to them. In order to change that, first of all the government should do something like changing the mentality of the citizens. All the citizens should be trained about health and safety rules at schools. After that, to make the citizens obey the rules the penalties should be increased so citizens have to obey the rules not to pay money to the government. As long as the government works on this important issue, the number of accidents would decrease and we can talk about a healthier and safer life in Turkey. Let us say the government could succeed on making the citizens follow the health and safety rules. It is not the end of the story. We can be safe when we are outside but we also…
