1. As a chief engineer, what is your responsibility?
I am the new general manager of a full service hotel that means I am involved in every department of hotel. I would like to know how the chief engineer define and understand his or her`s job.And how will they perform their duties.From this question I will give them my ideas about how to act as a good chief engineer. If they could give me a overall analysis for this question I will give them my affirm.
2. How will you(Chief Engineer) perform to assist me to manager this hotel with low budget?
The available cash flow usually does not give the hotel manager the luxury of outsourcing the entire engineering function. I would like to know how will the chief engineer will perform when we lack of financial resources.And what kind of good experiences and skills the chief engineer will introducing to me from previous working.
3. What are the legalities and regulations of the engineer department?
“The engineer department has witnessed a host of new laws that have affects its operation.Law governing the use of energy, water, chemicals,fire safety, and the environment have impacted the engineering department. And the trend is definitely toward more, not fewer, laws. Another prevailing trend has been the increasing of lawsuit against hotel dye ti accidents caused by faulty equipment or hazardous conditions that have injured clientele.”(Textbook)I would like to know do the chief engineer has the cognition of this important issue to make sure we could decrease the lawsuits as much as possible.
4. What kind of accidents and hard problems you have meet and solved? And how?
I want my chief engineer with fully experienced. There is big different between Engineer department and other departments. From this question I will have a brief awareness of my chief engineer`s ability and how flexible the chief engineer is.
