Group Reflection Paper
Our group has broken our project down into the four P’s to better determine key aspects of our seminar. The four P’s include purpose, process, people, and perimeter. These factors help describe what we will be doing in our project, how we will be carrying it out, who is affected and group assignments, and challenges we ran into.
First, we will start with purpose. Our group defined our purpose as being able to improve the students’ ability to understand and utilize the online Google apps. We covered five Google apps, including Google+ hangouts, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Asana. We strived to give every student a good understanding of each app and give them the knowledge they need to use each app on a daily basis in not only a global business setting but in any business setting. Through our project, we were able to meet our purpose and educate the entire class on the Google apps and therefore

We broke down the given time period we had to complete our project into dates and times so we would be able to complete everything we needed to do in a timely manner. First off we started out by creating our Plan of Action and our constitution and having then written and sent to the project manager to be reviewed by October 5. On October 12 we met as a group and ran through everyone’s apps making sure we all had a good understanding of what each one involved. We repeated this on October 19, and shared any further information that was gathered on each app. We conducted each of these meeting through Google+ Hangouts, as a way to learn and utilize our apps. On October 24, we filmed the videos for our class lesson and posted them on Basecamp. We completed our seminar project on October 28. We also meet on a weekly basis on Friday mornings to discuss details and plan out our next moves. We completed our project in a timely manner and met all our deadlines so therefore deserve an A in this aspect of our

When effective group management and high organisation skills are applied, group work can bring students a wide range of skills and abilities related to people and problem solving. Group work demonstrates student’s capacity to communicate effectively, share and consider opinions, establish trust, analyse the group process, resolve conflicts and also develop their creativity. However, the constructive learning and beneficial results does not always come as a result of group work. For instance, if the students can not perceive the objective of the group work in order to achieve a common goal, or to lay back or believe that the work load can be relied on other members of…

In my current position, as a house supervisor, I work with five other nurses to provide 24 hour coverage within our facility. As a group, we all have varying degrees of experience and range in age from the youngest member, in her mid-20s, to our oldest member who is 64 years old. Working within this multigenerational group has led to some difficulties in communication and expectations among members as I will expand upon further.…

I was involved in a task group last summer at my agency; my group was assigned a policy to review and update, in preparation for our quality assurance site visit. The group got off to a rocky start as there were initial disagreements as to how to precede with completing our report. During the process, we also lost two members and the remaining members were tasked with completing the report by the deadline. The outcome was good and we were able to accomplish the tasks, after the initial hiccups and changes. Initially, within this task group, I was the quiet member. I am a very quiet person and am very thoughtful and cautious when offering feedback and ideas; I generally like to take time to process information before jumping in. In contrast, the other group members assigned were very vocal and opinionated; they had many ideas on how they thought the process should…

The group process went very smoothly from my perspective. In the time that we have interacted in this cohort, there have been many group assignments. From those experiences, there have been improvements in the methods of communication, like e-mail and texting. Text messaging is a very convenient method to alert cohort members or recent updates to the assignment or to make inquiries. Because most of us have nursing jobs, texting is a good way to communicate when computer access is not possible. In the group, I was not aware of any problems with the group process. Especially as the report on the IEP was being written, group members responded promptly with changes, editing and suggestions.…

In the recent group activity, I was a member in a group of four. I had been absent from class when the groups were allocated and the two members present were given the task of choosing each of our roles. I felt they chose the more difficult roles for themselves, the introduction and conclusion, although I base that on the knowledge of my own strengths and weaknesses, with no knowledge of theirs. They assigned the work conflict to me, which I thought was a logical choice, given my occupation as a police officer.…

Fort Fights Cancer Week was a project I had to take on by myself the past year. It’s an event that Fort Osage High School puts on to raise money for cancer. Everything was on me including the end result, whether that be a success or a failure that would teach me something in the process. I helped organize it in the past, as well as other events like such, but never had I taken something like that on by myself with no help from really anyone. My teacher informed me that she wanted to change the organization we would donate to due to poor experience with the organization we had been working with in the past. This started the long process of the event in the school year prior to the event.…
