Computer geeks are obviously in the best career. Graphic designers have astonished the visual arts classes for years. Bring the two together and you have Graphic Design. The most complicated task is learning and coding programs. Any person that has mastered these skills are perfectly suited to pursue a career as a designer. The first step is to simply immerse even deeper into the trenches of the advertising industry.
The ultimate goal as a graphic designer is to gain enough experience in the field early, and to then eventually start a company or use all of the knowledge and skills to secure a spot in the industry. The first step for most graphic designers is a degree. To prepare for college level computer arts, even minor experiences in high school can be helpful. Classes such as digital design and other computer or art classes can help put a student on the right track.
The quality that separates good graphic designers from great ones is personality. It is really important to be patient and disciplined under pressure. Not only that but working with clients is a must. Communication skills are just as important as creativity and artistic ability.
