Diversity
An exciting part of college is that you will meet and work with people from different age groups and backgrounds. A simple definition of diversity is “difference” or “variety.” When people talk about diversity, they usually mean diversity in race, gender, ethnicity, age and religion. My first semester at Southeast Community and Technical College; I have noticed generational diversity, teaching styles diversity, and different stereotypes.
The key with generational diversity as with all types of diversity is to learn more about yourself and others and appreciate the differences. When I walked into class on the first day of the semester, I was so scared. There was young people in my classes as well as older people. I sat in my classes
