I just wanted to show my appreciation for your and also the artist’s work. Recently I have seen a cartoon on your website and the fact of gender wage gap shocked me. The cartoon itself includes two beggars holding signs. The one held by the male says “Will work for food” but the one in the female character’s hand says “Will work for %28 less food” after seeing this I was affected by the art style and also the strong message. So I started researching about the gender wage gap and found similar statistics, which mentioned that women get %28 less. And men more. This struck me and I started noticing how this was also inside my industry itself. I have realized that men, which signed into a job after I did received a higher salary compared to me. In my workplace which is Wendy’s, women are being discouraged by the fact that they are earning less money, and we are aware of this problem as a group of people and we want to change this. This started with a female co-worker. She who happened to be my friend went into the manager’s office and started talking to him about the amounts she earned and how her male co-workers were gaining more, without any more qualifications. She actually got fired and started protesting the corporate. She was deeply broken down because of the way the managers acted against her and she tried to sue the company. Wendy’s is a huge company, of course, she was silenced down, she didn’t stand a chance against this huge organization which I am working in. Hell, I would immediately be fired as well if they found out about this letter. That is the point we are at
