Functional Behavioral Assessment
The article I chose was Functional Behavioral Assessment: Principles Procedures, and Future Directions By Gresham, Frank M.; Watson , T . Steuart; Skinner, Christopher H. School Psychology Review. This article relates to my topic Behavioral Theory by introducing information on functional behavioral assessments and positive behavioral support plans to address challenging behaviors presented by students in school settings.

In this article it gives us an insight into several different factors that are related to behavior. Such as certain environmental events being associated with the occurrence of certain behaviors. Behavior functions refer to the purpose that which behavior serves for the individual. There are considered five different categories

    In order to create a behavior intervention plan behavior analysts have to conduct a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). This assessment is necessary to determine what the functions of the problem behaviors serve.
