FRIENDS AND FRIENDSHIP

A very good morning to my beloved teacher, Pn. Fatirah Aziz and all my fellow friends. As you know, my name is Nurin Fatihah and I’m pleased to talk with you about a topic that is near and dear to you, “Friends and Friendship”. In life, everyone will meet many people that say that they are your friend. But you will make only a few true friends. What is a friend ? Friend is a person capable of loving irrespective of whether he is being loved or not. Friendship can exist between the same sex man-man, woman-woman or opposite sex man-woman. It transcends age and could subsist between even an old man and a small boy. Human beings also establish friendship with their pet animals such as cats, dogs, horses, doves and parrots. Friendship also can be felt in familial relationship between father and son, mother and daughter, husband and wife and also brother and sister.Yet, more than friendship, love is the binding force in familial relationship. A lot of people go through life with only a few friends. It seems that some have less than that. They have no one to call in time of need and difficulty. They are at the mercy of life, standing alone. Others seem to have multitude of friends. Wherever they go people know them and like to be around them. They know exactly the person with whom to discuss the topics of inquiry and debate. Life is full of entertaining relationship because it is full of friends. Friendship is a blessing and a friend is the channel through whom great emotional, spiritual and something even physical blessings flow. Friends can cheer us, when we are sorrowful or depressed. Friends can challenge us, when we allow ourselves to get beyond our reasonable boundaries. Friend can motivate us when we are ready to give in, and they provide for us when life falls apart. Proverb said, a friend loves at all time, brothers is born for adversity. Therefore, Iwould like to advise all of you to focus on what you give to a friend, not

Joseph Addison once said, “The greatest sweetener of human life is Friendship. To raise this to the highest pitch of enjoyment, is a secret which but few discover.” Friendship is something that is truly a blessing to have in your life. Based upon Webster 's Dictionary, the definition of a friend is, "A person whom one knows, likes and trusts.” But to all, friendship has no defined terminology. Some friends are made at a very early stage and are kept throughout our life. Studies show that between the ages of 15 and 25 is when most people establish lifelong friendships. Friends are people that become part of your lifestyle. A true friend is one that is always there for you whenever you are in need. They are someone that you know you can run to for a shoulder to cry on, tell your problems and stories to, or someone that you can laugh with. They are there to motivate, to encourage, and to push us to achieve our goals. They are a true support system 24/7.…
