Poem Review: Bridge Over Troubled Water By Paul Simon
A friend is essential in life, having a friend will make life happier and will help you through rough times.A friend is a friend no matter what, and they can be anybody. They can be your family member, classmate,teacher,co-worker or even a random person you met somewhere. The thing is who ever your friends are if they are your real friends, they will support you and they will be by your side no matter what.

Just like in the poem “Bridge over troubled water”. This poem is written by Paul Simon. The poem is about a guy and his loyalty and support for his friend. He’s there when she was sad. He’s there to offer comfort for his friend in need. He’s there to support his friend when she’s having a rough time and he’s always gonna be there when she needs a friend. This poem defines the true meaning of friendship, which is being there for your friend to support. No matter what your situation or his/her situation is.

The theme of the poem addresses that losing love or friendship is truly difficult to cope with. The speaker can be characterized as old, wise, and full of experiences in life. This can be inferred because she has obviously lived in many different places and has traveled much due to the fact that she's "lost two cities" and once "owned two rivers, a continent" (lines 13-14). The speaker's tone towards the subject of loss is detached because she truly understands within her heart how awful loss feels. This tone becomes conceivable at the end of the poem for it ends with the words "like disaster" (line 19).…

The poem starts out talking about him feeling emptiness that feeling you get when nobody is by your side, So he is a little over the edge almost feeling insecure about life. The feeling you get when you are going through something rough like his in a mental state. The author of the poem used a lot of imagery to make his poem stand out and to make it clear for us. The image he used in the poem is a man hugging himself tightly, you could easily visualize that this man is desperate, kind of lost, and needs help. I could easily tell that this man is not in the normal state, these reasons I have may conclude that he may have had a rough childhood which still disturbs him today it’s like he never had someone there for him, not even a friend.…

What made this poem my favorite work of literature in this class is that no one person in this world of ours is important except the ones that are close to us. This poem puts one of the hardest concepts in our world of the circle of life into fun little poem. This poem explains to us that it does not matter where you are from or who you are at the beginning or end of your world, it will all be the same for you and the world will not stop around but will continue and grow even…

This represents the lost in the poem and what people are subconsciously thinking everyday. Lines 1 and 2 epitomize this meaning because it says, "Even when I forget you I go on looking for you." This leads on to how life is symbolized in the poem as well. People go their whole lives not realizing they are lost and need time to themselves to become the person they have the potential to be. Some follow behind others and are just a copy of the person next to them, in effect they are not their own person and the things they do are not of their true choice. This symbolism is conveyed in the last two lines as it says, "What they say you who are not lost when I do not find you." In conclusion you are not truly living life if you are not living as yourself and as the…

It is about two people who have a lot in common but are too afraid to show their true colors. They looked for other people that were like them and they finally passed by each other and never knew that they were exactly alike. They were not being true to themselves therefore they missed out on an amazing encounter. The message I received from this poem is to always be true to yourself; never try and be someone else because you are unique and there are people who are looking for your unique personality. By being yourself you can be truly happy and find the people that are meant to be in your…

Friends are that great blessing from God in order to provide us with the ultimate support when life becomes so tough and disappointing. A real friend is simply recognized throughout difficult situations when he or she tries to put your advantages over his or her own advantages. For instance, when you are struggling to pay off your bank loan, a real friend will surely care to help you even with a little money while others just looking with sympathy. Real friends are first people celebrating your success in life as if they made it themselves. A friendship may start and finish in a day, but true friendships hold strong as time goes on.…

What is friendship? Friendship could never be understood by simply reading its definition from any resources. The meaning of friendship will not be gained by anyone until it has been experienced. Friendship is a very powerful word. As children are growing up, their parents and family give them a taste of what friendship really is all about. Starting at a young age, it is smart for parents to teach children the significance of friendship. A friend should be someone who tells the other individual when they are doing wrong. They should influence them to do good, give them a shoulder to cry on, and be that person to talk to when sad. Friendships change over time as you move from childhood to adulthood, however, friendship exists in the positive relationships a person builds.…
