Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe is about a middle aged woman named Evelyn who loves to listen to thrilling stories from Mrs.Threadgoode. Mrs.Threadgoode tells Evelyn some of the most outrageous stories about her life that made me laugh,cry,skeptical,and even horrified for what could happen next! The beginning of the novel gives me a very "countryside hometown" feeling and mood. The first page talks about somebody just opening up a diner in Whistle Stop, Alabama and what kind of food is sold there. This first page also lets me know what time period this novel is based on. The next couple of pages introduces a couple of important characters such as: Idgie Threadgoode, Ruth Jamison, Sispey, Onzell, Big George, Mrs. Ninny Threadgoode, and Evelyn Couch. The plot really kept me thoroughly entertained and "on my toes". I didnt necessarily know what was going to happen next. After Ruth broke Idgie's heart, she did various actions that really gave me a different outlook on her character. Both Idgie and Ruth did some sneaky things that could've got them in loads of trouble. Even Sipsey did some scandlous actions that shocked me! The plot definetely built lots of suspense that made the climax look even more horrifying. The novel itself continues to flip back and forth between two different time periods. The first one being when Ninny Threadgoode is telling all her amazing life stories to Evelyn, and the second being Evelyn actually listening Mrs.Threadgoode. The novel tried to foreshadow the whereabouts of Idgie at the end. Even though Ninny's stories to Evelyn had come to a close, could Idgie still be somehwere alive? The whole novel shows various patterns of cause-effect relationships. Because Ruth had to leave Idgie, Idgie did some unrealistic and unimaginable actions. Due to Sipsey's brave, yet horrifying behavior, Idgie had to suffer for it later on in her life. After Ninny told her life stories to Evelyn, Evelyn has somehwat of a
