12 Angry Men
Twelve Angry Men 1.How do you think you might have acted as a juror in this case ? How would you had interacted ?
I think i would have started off with being calm but stressed i mean I would probably feel very burdened, because just by choosing one option you can change someones life. And as fas as interacting goes i would be casual but if something unexpected happens and i do have an outburst then it happens every one loses it at some point.

2.At the beginning of this movie the jurors vote 11 to 1 to convict the defendant and send him to death for murder; yet by the end of the movie they vote to acquit him, to set him free. What are the events that led the jurors to change their minds so radically and set the defendant free ? Describe the process.
1)The knife could be bought or have been found by anyone
2)The murderer knew how to use a pocket knife and the count have known.
3)When they re-enact the old man walking/limping from his bed to the door outside it takes them more then 15 seconds to get to the outside door. And the old man swore it had taken him 15 seconds.
4)The old man and the lady say that they heard the boy screaming at his father saying "I'll kill you" but that doesn't really mean he actually killed him since people say that phrase all the time but don't really mean it and that was proved when juror number three has and outburst and say's "I'll kill you" to juror number eight.
5)How could the old man and the lady have heard the boy screaming when you can't even hear yourself thinking over the el train.
6)The jurors start doubting the lady's eyesight since she did not have her glasses on and maybe just assumed that it was the boy staying his father.

3.Why is juror number nine (old Man) a real hero ? Explain this using examples.
1)Because he is the first to agree with juror number eight , deciding that there is not enough evidence to sentence the young boy to death.
2)He openly describes juror number ten's racist attitude.

Some of the plots illustrates the legal system is an adorable thing. First of all, the verdict must be unanimous. The defendant can only be punished until the twelve jurors all agree that he is guilty. Those jurors are from different places and have variable social backgrounds. They don’t know each other and have nothing to lose or gain by their verdict. They all view the case in a distinct way and therefore some of them may discover doubtful points about the case. It has a much lower possibility of miscarriage of justice compare to just have one person to decide whether the defendant is guilty or not. There are twelve people and the defendant cannot be sent to the chair even just one of the twelves votes he is not guilty. Juror 8 is the only one who votes not guilty in the beginning of the play. Although the evidences present in the court are all saying the boy is guilty. They cannot send the boy to the chair without a unanimous verdict.…

The movie Twelve Angry Men begins with an eighteen year old boy from the ghetto who is on trial for the murder of his abusive father. A jury of twelve men is locked in the deliberation room to decide the fate of the young boy. All evidence is against the boy and a guilty verdict would send him to die in the electric chair. The judge informs the jurors that they are faced with a grave decision and that the court would not entertain any acts of mercy for the boy if found guilty. The mood is apparent at first when the majority of the men vote "guilty" and it almost seems as this man's fate is sealed. Juror #8 was the only man to vote for "not guilty".…

In 12 Angry Men directed by Reginal Rose, a jury determines the guilt or innocence of a young man who is accused of murder. The jury room is very intense, they have little time and their tempers all together tend to click at one time which causes them to argue a lot. Out of the twelve, ten jurors have voted to convict. In the film the character that is uncertain is Henry Fondas character. Henry first views the testimony as a pair of witnesses, putting what ever is said together. By Henry thinking critically, he tries to figure out their conflicting testimony. He questions how the old man could have heard all the yelling going on while the train was passing by with the open window. From everything put together there was no possible way that the old man could not have been telling the truth. The question now is how to take in the expression “I’m going to kill you!” that the accused is alleged to have shouted. One of the jurors wants to take the statement seriously and not as an expression. Another juror goes against the content and explains how everything cannot always be taken seriously. It is brought up that why was this not mentioned in the cross- examination of the witness, since they did say they viewed everything.…

Juror number 3 had already made a moral decision that the 18 year old boy was guilty. He had made up his mind even before the case had started. He believed that he had to sacrifice this 18 year old boy’s life to make other younger people see that it’s not ok to disrespect their parents. Given his past experiences, he would feel more inclined to vote guilty as to punish and make an example of this boy so that other kids would think twice. Juror number 3 does not change the involvement of juror number 8. Juror number 8 tries to change the mind of juror number 3 by giving facts. The main character does substitute the secondary’s character’s ethical values.…

The character that is the least effective critical thinker is juror 3 (Lee J. Cobb). Cobb made more internal attributions for the boy’s behavior. He agreed with the slum kid idea, but also focused on the notion that kids today don’t have any respect or sense of morality. He is basing this decision on his own life situation because of his poor relationship with his son. Cobb categorizes the defendant as a rebellious kid and wants to persecute him.…
