Protection Officer
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
New Cottages, Motel Road 4700, Cox`s Bazaar, Bangladesh

Subject: Application for the position of Protection Associate

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my interest to be recruited in the position of Protection Associate in response to your recent advertisement in www.bdjobs.com. You will see from my profile that I have acquired considerable knowledge and experience to work in the position.

Currently I am working as NUNV Protection Assistant at UNHCR. Previously, I worked for about a year with registered and unregistered Rohingya refugees in the research project ‘Mainstreaming the Rohingya Refugee Issue in Bangladesh: Need for Networks and Capacity Building’ under Centre for Alternatives which was funded by CIDA. I also served as Programme Associate in D.Net (Development Research Network).

I got honours and masters degree in International Relations where I studied international law and political science which are required by you in advertisement. I have very good analytical and report writing skill. My skills in writing and professional translation can be seen from my publications. My home district is in Chittagong and I can naturally speak the Chittagonian dialect which is essential for working with the refugees.

As a UNV, I am enjoying my tasks at UNHCR and the opportunity to work as a staff in this organization will pave my way to assist more sincerely to the protection of refugees. Thank you for considering my application.

Yours sincerely,

Ashraful Azad
