Fluency Assessment: Reading Sentences
Purpose: This test measure how fluently and accurately the student can read the sentence. It also measures comprehension in does the sentence make sense or not. The student will have to use their prior knowledge to answer these questions.
Grade Levels: Kindergarten to Fifth
Procedures:
1. The teacher will need two copies of the sentences assessment. One will be for the student and one will be for the teacher to record the responses made.
2. The teacher will need a stopwatch, two pencils, and a clipboard.
3. The teacher will read the following directions to the student as follows.
1. You will read the sentence out loud.
2. You will circle Y if the sentence is true or circle N if the sentence is false.
