Five Innovative Goals
Task 3
Establish at least five key goals for the creative and innovative idea.
In the context of the education industry, it is important to ensure that innovative practices are geared towards the accomplishment of goals to foster learner achievement, meet market needs, fulfill employer expectations and comply with external regulations. When goals are not clearly defined before commencing with the development of an innovative practice, it is often unclear what improvements the new practice should lead to and how these can be measured effectively.
The five goals for the innovative idea are:

As part of ensuring that all student needs are catered for, and that students are up to par with the technological changes in an increasingly global world, digital assessment can be integrated into the modules. To promote best practices, tutors should also be given the time and opportunity for identifying and sharing best practices in assessment and moderation. Assessment is not only an opportunity to provide feedback to learners on their progress, but also an opportunity to improve teaching and assessment practices (Hattie 2007). Therefore, it is of paramount importance that both teachers and learners are able to use assessment information and feedback to identify areas for further improvement, devise strategies for enhanced learning and demonstrate the capacity to reflect on existing practices before developing new ones. The last is most important for innovation as new practices will not be as effective is the existing ones are not properly evaluated and their shortcomings recorded. A Learner Data Management (LDM) system can be used to store student achievement data and interfaces relative to core learner information. This will reap a variety of benefits such as easy access and cross-checking, easy tracking of student achievement and efficient generation of data to support business information processes. Through this innovation, learner data will be updated as and when it is looked at, with minimal delays due to administrative backlogs.
