Field Trip
Speech (field trips)
Are you bored of teaching students in the classroom with textbooks and sitting on an uncomfortable chair? Are you tired of students forgetting your lessons even you make a detailed, lively and passionate speech? Yes! The best solution will be field trips! They are different type of learning and they can take place for every subject students are learning. Not only that but they are also not that expensive. So why not have more field trips in our school?

When students are learning in the classroom with textbooks, they will be distracted easily and lose interest. Field trips can give students as well as teachers a break from learning in the classroom. Also, by seeing real-life application of the lessons that they are learning in school, such as seeing how technology skills can be used to make movies for tech class; this will help to increase student’s interests and encourage them to learn more.

Field trips also connect classroom lessons to real-life experiences. Students can take it upon themselves to learn anything they missed in class. And field trips are critical tool for creating episodic memory. The experiences enable students to create powerful memories that they can recall the rest of their lives. For example, if the students are learning English Literature, the school can organize a trip to a National English Literature Museum. The real historical relic, photos, movies can give students an impressive record.

Also nowadays more and more people believe that only having knowledge is not enough for a person to be successful. Sometimes, social skills are much more important then the knowledge. Field trips let the students learn about the outside world in real life, it can help them to improve their social skills like teamwork, giving.

Field trips can help increase student’s interests, create long-term memory for them, and improve their social skills. The school definitely should increase the number of the field trips in each

I will, when asked, go and risk asses the location with my work colleagues. We then bring feedback to the school so that the trip can be planned and also it can be established what the children need to bring for the trip. And following from that I would then often go on the school trip; having my own group of children to look after and account for. I personally find this activity very stressful as you are away from your comfort zone and having to have eyes at the back of your head! However it does develop my skills to be able to manage and risk asses the…

I have chosen Centerville ISD as the school to complete my Field Experience 1 for this semester. Centerville Elementary has a different setup than the average school. Because of the low population, 1st-3rd grade classes are located in one building. Each class rotates throughout the day to three different teachers. Each teacher teaches two subjects. My mentor teacher, Mrs. Childress, teaches reading in the morning and science in the afternoon. The three teachers create a collaborative environment for the students. The small building has 4 classrooms, 1 is used as a computer lab/library for all the classes.…

First, a destination has to be chosen. I have chosen to take the students to the public YMCA. The YMCA is a pretty big place so the students would be in the equipment area of the building. The objective of taking the students to the YMCA is to demonstrate how to properly use particular exercising equipment. By going on this field trip my main objective is to open up the students eyes to the different ways to get in shape and be happy. The third objective of taking the students to the YMCA is having the opportunity to experiment with different equipment that the school does not offer. The second step I would have to take for this field trip is booking a date to do it on. I wouldn’t want to plan this trip during the fall nor winter. I would want to plan this trip during late winter, and the trip would occur during the beginning of spring. I chose to book this field trip in the spring because it will be sunny and warm then. The exact day of the trip is undecided as of right now. But I have kept in mind that a Friday would the perfect day. As for the time of the trip, we would leave the school around 9:30 A.M and return around 11:45 A.M. The third step for planning this field trip is getting transportation to the destination. I’ve came to the conclusion that the students can either ride the bus that will be provided by the school, with their consent. Or the students could carpool with my mentor and other students in the class that have automobiles. The fourth step is permission slips. I would give the students’ parents a lot of time to RSVP with me for the trip. The permission slips would be sent out 2 weeks before the end…

Teachers and parents can’t tackle the need for more outdoor time alone. Fortunately, there are several initiatives being discussed in the U.S. Congress and in state legislatures to support more outdoor time and outdoor learning for children. These include the development of stronger statewide plans for environmental literacy and outdoor education and more public funding for park and recreation agencies and public health agencies concerned with getting more outdoor time for…
