family reunion essay
Family Fun! Organizing family reunions doesn’t seem too hard does it? It’s basically planning a full-size party for family members only. The most basic thing to do is to make a list of everything that needs to be done and to get some other family members to help you out with the entire reunion. Once you have done that, the first step to actually organizing a reunion is to pick a date. Planning several months before the reunion would be best so that the family members organizing the reunion can have time to come up with different days and how long the reunion will be. Then, try to pick a date when most of the family has time and can be present at the reunion. For example, during summer vacation, or Christmas break when you know the children who go to school and adults who work will have time off. After the rendezvous has been set, make a list of all the family members that will be able to attend or, if you’re still not sure who can and can’t make it, make an estimate of the amount of family you think will be attending. Up next is picking a location. Having an adequate location is essential to having a fun family reunion. Keeping the quantity of people attending, budget, weather, and how long the reunion will last in mind, try to choose a setting that can accommodate all family members. “The longer a reunion lasts, the more space you should have to spread out” (Haltzman). Now consider the food. Depending on how much you plan on spending on food, you can have a caterer, have a picnic, or make it a potluck. Not everybody has the same taste so make sure that there is a wide selection of food for everyone to choose from. Think of the most trouble-free foods, nothing too extravagant, maybe wings, pizza, hot dogs, and burgers, and a little something for everyone to enjoy. If you do not offer a variety for the relatives to choose from, there will be some disappointed family members, especially the parents with picky eaters, and surely we don’t wish for

Looking at an article from legacy.decaturdaily.com, it is noted upon that family reunions are a great way for families to catch up and strengthen bonds with one another. When families are able to join together and connect more, every single person in that family builds upon their social health and is likely to feel happier as a person. The tradition of family reunions also combats the barrier of distances between many families, and eliminates a feeling of ‘never seeing’ more distant family. All in all, the concept of family gatherings as a tradition is definitely a considerable help to bringing families closer…

My mother and father come from large families, each have about ten brothers and sisters, so I would say I have about twenty aunts and uncles combined and a handful of cousins. Unfortunately, not all my relatives live here in the U.S but the ones who do live here, reside within a short distance from us and we always come together for the holidays to celebrate them as a family. However, Thanksgiving in the Montiel household is different; we don’t cook the traditional turkey or ham we feast on tamales and molé and give thanks for all the wonderful things god has blessed us…

Before i had a family, i dreamed of my "made up family", having a joyous time. Well that sure made me understand perception can alter your true life experiences when you go thru real situations. My point being, it was June of 2015 last year, and my small family and my mother planned to take a trip. My mother resides in New Mexico and we live in Las Vegas, so the demand for togetherness was of a longing feeling. One could say even mutual. When all the plans went thru we were on our way to Las Cruces,N.M. We were initially going to pick up my baby daughter. She had been with my mother for a few months and daddy was missing her. At this time i had'nt seen my family in 16 years and they were interested in meeting my wife and kids for the first…
