Explain Why An English Course Should Be A Trouble-Free Course
English courses should be a trouble-free course. With any course, there will be things a student is good at and things the student are not good at. English courses are not exempt. Which, is why it is good to know ones strengths and weaknesses. In an English course the student, can be great at writing an essay but not at punctuation rules. Writing an essay is a fairly easy task to complete. There are two things that goes into writing that will make writing an essay easy. Having a topic and creating an outline will assist an individual in writing an essay. Choosing a topic is fairly simple. Sometimes a student will be given a prompt or they can write about something they have knowledge of. The next thing is the outline of the essay. Having an outline can ensure that the person is not all over the place in the essay. Talking about one subject in one line. Then talking about a whole other subject the next. Having a topic and an outline will make sure the individual is focusing on the right things. Also, that the individual is on the right track in the essay. The one thing that will give a person a somewhat difficult time is punctuation rules. …show more content…
When talking about punctuation rules there are a lot of things that goes into making sure a person's punctuation rules are correct. One of the punctuation rules that can give a person some trouble are comma rules. An individual might have trouble figuring out where a comma is suppose to go or where it is not suppose to go. Comma rules have to be one of the most common mistakes a student can make in an essay. For any student they have made a couple of comma mistakes before. Either because they have overlooked where a comma is suppose to go or they have put a comma where it does not

When writing an essay there are steps you should take to build towards that essay. First you brainstorm to get yourself going and get an idea of what you’d like to write. Then, you create an outline that breaks down your essay (choosing angle, intro, thesis, body paragraphs, and conclusion). Using that outline you make longer sentences and create your first draft. After receiving a grade for that first draft, using the comments the professor wrote about your essay, you should revise or rewrite that essay to create your second draft. You then repeat that process and do some minor editing and that would be your final draft. I never used to brainstorm or write an outline, then write my first draft. I would write whatever possibly came to mind and hand it in as my “first” or “rough” draft. I realized, with the help of my professor, that it was in my best interest to use this writing process to organize any information that I’d be using to write my essay.…

After reading “The Writing Process” in chapter 2, I learned the major aspects to writing a well-developed essay. The methods in developing an essay are: finding a focus, developing a thesis statement, drafting, and editing. Firstly, finding a focus plays a crucial part because when there are many ideas in mind people tend to have trouble focusing on one topic. After settling on a topic, the next step would be to create a thesis statement. The thesis is a statement that relates to all the ideas and the essay should be centered on the statement. Likewise, drafting brings in a lot of ideas for a paper. Drafting essays allows plenty of editing time. While editing essays, one might come across grammatical errors. Identifying errors and correcting them will make the essays sharp and to the point.…
