Josh: Yeah he wants to make going to public universities free, so I’ll probably vote for him. It would be great to go to school for free.
Alex: It would be great to school for free, but you have to think about what politicians promise practically. If school was free, where would the money to pay for the schools come from?

Obama has proposed the idea of having community college be free in order to increase the number of people to own a degree. Joanne Jacobs writes in her article about free community college that “The White House estimates that this would cost $60 billion for over 10 years” to execute. With our economy in shambles at the moment, this can worsen the economic status of the country, adding to the drastic debt that continuously rises on a daily basis. If Obama creates some sort of promise about tuition being free, then another issue could arise, which is having schools become more crowded than what they already are. States need to spend more money in order to increase the…

I have only been to the one on Otis Avenue in Lawrence, but many people have written reviews on some of the other locations. The other locations are in Greenwood and Irvington. One of the most rated locations was Irvington. Anyone that wrote a review on the other locations said they were great and easy to get to. They are all located off of main roads and easy to get to from the interstate or highway. The restaurant in Lawrence has always been clean while I am there. The bathroom is always cleaned and stocked whether it be toilet paper or paper towels. The tables are always cleaned off, the bathrooms aren’t dirty, and nothing is on the…

Free schools - Free schools are an all ability, non profit making, state funded school that are set up in response to what local people say they want and need in order to improve education for children in their area. These schools are also set up when there are not enough places in a mainstream school. Free schools can be set up by universities, businesses, educational groups and parents who would like to make a difference to a child’s education. Free schools still have to meet certain standards and are must also have the same Ofsted inspections as all state schools.…

If one looks at the data, the bigger problem is that many students don’t finish college. “Only about 55 percent of students graduate six years after starting,” Bob Luebke (a writer for the Civitas Institute.) The problem is not access but completion. So why do people drop out of college? For the most part, money is not the biggest problem; it’s usually factors like family issues, or transportation. Providing free tuition to institutions that graduate only a small amount over 50 percent of their students does not make economic sense. Also, if college tuition does become free for students, colleges will attract more young people who are not suited for college and will most likely drop out as well as more students that will major in fields with little or no market…

One way, is to stop corporate tax loopholes that allow companies to legally avoid paying their full share of taxes. Next, diverting most of the public money currently spent on student financial aid toward making all public colleges and universities tuition-free instead. Finally, they would stop wasteful government spending.(“It's Time to Push for Free College.”)…

However, it isn’t worth the money right now for the United States because we are in about $1.3 trillion dollars in debt. The article “Free Tuition: Laudable, Unaffordable. Editorial.” By Orlando Sentinel, mention that if the federal government has the money to actually spend on students they would be successfully prepared, but they aren’t ready. In reality United States is in so much debt according to the article we simply just can’t spend billions of dollars to have free tuition for two years. We already give low income students free money to just have a seat. Orlando Sentinel also states that President Obama still hasn’t mentioned anymore about the financial or any other details about this proposal. But he only mention that Washington will pay seventy-five percent of the cost, and depending on the states, they would pay twenty-five percent. Community college shouldn’t be free because some schools may lack the organization it should and how many students are attending that school. Plus United States can’t afford every students having a free education at a Community…

Being a high school senior it would be amazing for college to be free, but if we really think about it. There is a lot more going into it than just free community college. The money has to come from somewhere if President wants to make it free for students to go to community. A lot of people do not think about the consciences or the aftermath of this plan. They are just paying attention to solving one problem, but do not stop and think about the rest of the problems that are going to raise when they make going to community college for free. As a student, I strongly disagree with making community college free because it is going to cause more problems.…

I will try my hardest to get a scooter. So my answer is a definite yes on buying and using a scooter for a while. While there is a chance I could get a minor injury or a dramatic injury I would still be able to moderately heal up, but given the amount of risks I tend to prevent on the street (because I am very Cautious) the chances of getting injured are small. Although until a later time when I am older and I need a car I could be driving a scooter. Only current problem I have is setting aside the money to get it. I believe that if I try hard enough I will get it.…

Community Colleges should be free because just like how president George W Bush created the “ No Child Left Behind Act” it is a way of showing us that all they want for us is to be educated and pursue the career that we want. I just want to be able to continue my education and become the FBI I have always wanted to become. I hope that president Barack Obama makes the free community college act successful so that I and future students can continue their education and not have to worry about paying and if they will have enough for the next level of their…
