Examples Of Loyalty In Odysseus
The movie Odysseus was focused on four main values that the human has possessed.
First of this values is bravery, second is loyalty, then love and faith.

BRAVERY
Odysseus shows bravery in fighting the Trojan War even though his wife just gives birth to their son, Telemachus. He shows bravery for fighting for his beloved country Greece even though he’s the only one who leads his men in victory because Achilles was dead.
As a human, we must be like Odysseus that is brave enough to face the struggles even though it seems like impossible to solve. He sailed the sea with courage even if he’s not sure if he will see again his son, his wife and his beloved kingdom, Ithaca. He fought against the monsters along their way just to reach his destination.

He is loyal to his men, for he did not take them for granted. He always saves them whenever they’re on trouble.
And most of all, he is loyal to his son for even if he only sees him when once, he never forget him.
Us as a person must be loyal to our parents, to the persons who are close to us and to the ones we submitted our loyalty.
The men of Odysseus show loyalty to him for they don’t left him even though they don’t know what would happen to them.

LOVE
The movie was full of love. Odysseus shows love to his men by caring for them and attend to their needs.
He loves his country and also his countrymen.
He loves his son, no doubt about that for he never forgets to think about him and loves him so much.
Above all, he loves his wife. Not a single moment he thinks of his wife. He always asks when he will see his wife. He never ceases to love her even if he met some women that is more beautiful than his Penelope.
Love must not be a game, like Odysseus look on love as a precious gift that must be treated so precious.

FAITH
Faith is something that is more precious above all. It is something to be valued so much. If a person possessed the value of faith, he will be like a tower that cannot be torn

Odysseus and I demonstrate bravery in various ways. The first way Odysseus demonstrates bravery was when he wasn’t scared to approach the Cyclops to give him some wine. Odysseus said, “Cyclops, try some wine. Here’s liquor to wash down your scraps of men” (904). This shows bravery, because Cyclops could of had Odysseus as a snack but Odysseus thought of a different way and gave the Cyclops some wine to make Cyclops drunk. Although Odysseus gave Cyclops wine, he also managed to poke his eye out. He “ bored that great eye socket while blood ran out around the read hot bar” (906). This shows courageous because Odysseus did poke Cyclops eye out. While he was drunk and asleep. Odysseus was courages that he yelled back to the cyclops to tell him…

Odysseus put himself on the line to protect his men day in and day out. He knew about the Sirens and how perilous they are “ Then all at once the wind fell, and a calm came over all the sea, as though some power lulled the swell.” (Homer, The Odyssey part 2). The Sirens make men jump off their ship if they hear the beautiful breathtaking voices. Odysseus had his men tie him up to a pole on the ship and made his men put wax in their ears so they don’t hear the voices. His men would know when it was safe to take out the wax when Odysseus calms down and doesn’t move or do actions like he want’s to jump off the ship. This shows an infinite amount of leadership and bravery from Odysseus because he sacrificed himself for the good of his men. He…

To bring his shipmates home.” (7-9) Odysseus went through many hardships to allow his shipmates to return to their homes. When Odysseus arrived at the banquet held in his honor by the daughter of Alcinous, he “… weeps as the minstrel’s song reminds him of all of his companions… “ (758) in remembrance of his shipmates that were killed by their own recklessness. He does this because he knew he whould not get eaten while his men whould. as shown in this quote he gives his men ethos to get them ready “Well, I walked up and down from bow to stern, trying to put heart into them, standing over every oarsmen, saying gently, have we ever been in danger before this.” after he told them this they went to scylla and fought. Loyalty, and the idea of a responsibility hierarchy between self, group, and population is a factor that should be identified and followed respectively when faced with a consequential scenario. This hierarchy: Self over group and group over population, is the order in which one should base any decision with consequential outcomes, and only in a position where these consequences are minimized, can the individual begin to aid those parties in relation to the presented hierarchy. Respectively, self is the loyalty to one’s own personal needs, whereas group is one’s responsibility to those similar to self (i.e. common interests or state), and lastly population is one’s loyalty to every human – even to those with conflicting interests. Through textual…
