The Ethos Water Advertisement is used to catch the possible consumer’s attention and to convince them to purchase their product. Every company uses their own form of rhetoric in advertisements that use pictures and phrases that are meant to convince people to purchase their products. In all forms of rhetoric, there are certain tools that help accomplish these goals which are commonly known as ethos, pathos, and logos. Ethos Water uses these tools in the form of celebrity appearance, statistics, and pictures of children.

The company is trying to help the children in Africa by getting them clean water. Ethos Water states in the advertisement, “Over one billion people around the world lack clean water.” By giving the audience facts, Ethos Water is allowing the consumer to make their own decision through their own logical process. The advertisement also tells the audience the Ethos Water is teaming up with H2O Africa to help give clean water to the children in Africa. By giving the audience a name of the organization Ethos Water is working with the audience is able to see that the bottled water company is not just trying to scam them and get more consumers, they are actually trying to help fight this terrible predicament the African children are in. The consumer is also able to research the organization and will then make them either want to purchase the Ethos Water or at least help the H2O Africa program itself. The Ethos Water Company uses Logos to reveal to the audience specific facts to convince them to purchase their product; the bottled water company also uses some of these facts to use more of an emotional approach on the consumer
