Identify 2 or 3 issues faced by the aging population.

1. The way the younger generation treats the older people in their community. 2. The older people do not have enough money to live on once they retire. 3. How much the government is helping the older people if they become sick and need to be put into a nursing home.

Answer the following questions in 150 to 250 words each:

• What is being done to address the issues you identified? There are a couple of things that are being done to address the issues that I have identified that the elder people are facing today. One of things that are being done to prevent the younger generation from treating the elderly people badly is that there are rallies that are held for senior citizens that teach them how to deal with people if they are having problems, they also teach the senior citizens how to defend themselves in case they get attacked by someone. When it comes to the older people not having enough money to live on when they retire there are programs that give the elder people hot meals, one of these programs are called meals on wheels. When it comes to how much help the older people are receiving from the government when they get sick there are programs like Medicare that could assist them but most of the time they do not cover all of the costs and fees.

• Is the number of aging population expected to rise in numbers or decrease? The numbers of the aging population is expected to increase year after year. When the year 2050 hits the expected number of people over that are over the age of 65 are supposed to increase as much as eight percent than what there is now today.
