The organization presents opportunities for me to improve my leadership skills, build my character, and contribute to the community through service. Academic performance is a top priority for me, and I try to maintain my grades. Just as important, I recognize the need to develop my leadership skills and give back to my school and my community. It’s my opinion that National Honor Society provides opportunities for me excel in all these areas.
My involvement in the Centennial High School Color Guard has provided many opportunities for leadership, character development, and service. For example, I have been on
Varsity Winter Guard for two years, and this past year I have spent a lot of time mentoring

Taking on this responsibility has increased my confidence and has encouraged me to assist above and beyond the requirements to make the organization stronger.
All in all, I believe that my efforts have had a positive effect on the organization.
The National Honor Society is an organization that not only recognizes individual efforts but also operates as a team. Being a member of Centennial’s vibrant band program has provided an excellent life lesson in the value of teamwork. Put simply, a multiunit marching band or concert band cannot achieve the level of success that we have achieved in our band programs if the members don’t work well together and respect one another. Individual accomplishment provides a certain level of satisfaction; contributing to the excellence of a large organization instills a sense of pride that rivals individual accomplishment.
In addition to these qualities, it’s also important for me to demonstrate to my peers that women can excel in nontraditional roles. Academically, I am interested in a field that not a

Personally, I have been involved in my community since I was in the Boy Scouts of America. As I acsended through to the top rank of Boy Scouts known as an Eagle Scout, many projects were conducted. For example, I have planned and conducted my own Eagle Scout project in 2009; this project consisted of building a roof for my local firehouse. Other community service includes roadside clean-ups, annual earth day events, and fellow Eagle Scout projects. Since my community college career, I have been well involved with our campus and community. Particularly in Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society of all community colleges, where I have become the President of our chapter. Within the society, the objectives include a honor's in action project…

Being a member in National Honor Society implies that you are a person of great character. One of the most important qualities that you can possess is leadership. Honesty is one of the key factors to being a good leader. You must be honest towards everyone, and in everything that you do. If a leader wasn't honest, then no one would trust them. And if they weren't trustworthy then who would want to follow their lead? Leadership also requires that you have an optimistic attitude about everything. You have to take control, and look for the best in every situation. No one wants to follow someone who is always in a bad mood, and always looks for something to complain about.…

Bringing people together encouraging human unity is a gift. Participating in service demonstrates that a person cares for others. There is no measurement for service to society, it is what helps to make the world a better place. I provide service regularly at my church, City Of Faith Church Of God. The congregation inspires me to give as much of me to them, as I possibly can. Working at. The church food pantry brings me joy.feeding citizens who are without the basics, food, and seeing the look of relief on their faces is one of the greatest experiences. Additionally, preparing for the culmination of "Child's Month Celebration" has been a lot of fun. Designing the logo based on the theme of "Be A Winner and Join The Race" was a fulfilling role. As a nominee of the National Honors Society , my mind overflows with ideas of how we can serve in our community. Some tasks we can fulfill include visiting the elderly. I am certain that they would appreciate and enjoy us going to read and/or listen them. Helping to clean our school environment would also be a good use of our service. In addition, I believe that academic tutoring from members of the Honors Society to students at NFA, other schools in the district, and the public library would be very useful and effective. Our service is important and would be very effective in our…

A team is a group of people who are collectively working towards something, such as a basketball team working to win a game by combining the players' talents. A basketball team has a leader within a team, but the other players don’t need to seek the leader continuous leadership like orchestra conductor leading the musicians all the time. The Orchestra musicians all have scores before them that tell them what to play, which makes them independent although they coordinate their efforts while a basketball plays need to interact and interdependent to score a goal. It doesn’t matter who scores the goal, less individual and more team type. Orchestra musicians are delegated to play their parts or instruments while basketball team although the five positions (point guard, shooting guard, center, power forward, and small forward) can be thought of as a role, these roles can be a hybrid when each player is required to play two or more positions at one time. This is due to the nature of the sport where players move around the court and play flexibly, doing what is needed in a given situation. Therefore, a group is like orchestra instrumentalists playing classical music. A group of performers playing various musical instruments to produce playing the desired music. In this case, a member associated together in producing the music or members responsible for their own contributions. A group is simply a collocation of people gathered to do something on an individual basis and they may or may not be together, but they are not necessarily working towards a specific goal. Finally, in some instantiate a team has a temporary lifespan and team resolve conflict quickly and constructively than a…

Being in the Collingswood HS Marching Band for five years has put me in the position of being an example to the younger members. I have learned that patience, and perseverance are valued qualities in a leader. When helping a new member of my section in the band this year, I had to be patient with her so that she would be able to be able to contribute positively to the performance. Also, when time management between school, band, and other responsibilities have weighed heavily on me, I have…

My first volunteering efforts began in high school at the YMCA, starting as an attendee, to volunteer, and now as a camp counselor. I was so excited to take on a leadership role because it was important for me to be a positive role model for the current students just as my mentors once did for me. When I entered college I immediately enrolled in Trio Student Support Services because of the amazing experience I had in the upward bound program in high school. Trio Student Support Services are a second family. The faculty has helped nurture and cultivate me into becoming a scholar and an intellectual by providing me with tutoring opportunities and countless seminars. These resource has been the primary reason I have been able to excel at Hampton University thus far. I have been on the Dean’s list every semester since I first…
