Eagle Scout Observation Report
Personally, I have been involved in my community since I was in the Boy Scouts of America. As I acsended through to the top rank of Boy Scouts known as an Eagle Scout, many projects were conducted. For example, I have planned and conducted my own Eagle Scout project in 2009; this project consisted of building a roof for my local firehouse. Other community service includes roadside clean-ups, annual earth day events, and fellow Eagle Scout projects. Since my community college career, I have been well involved with our campus and community. Particularly in Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society of all community colleges, where I have become the President of our chapter. Within the society, the objectives include a honor's in action project

On 07/24/2015 at approximately while working in the booking area Deputy Caldwell was watching max 1 camera and said that it appeared that the two inmates appeared to be fighting. Sargent Daves, Sargent Coulter and I (Deputy Stearns) could hear people talking loudly behind delta gate and the voices began to get louder. Sgt. Daves began to walk up the hallway with Corporal Moravec towards delta gate calling for the door to be unlocked as they approached the door. Sgt. Coulter and I started towards the hallway to see what was going on behind delta gate in the hall. As we got to delta gate Deputy Caldwell pressed the button once again to unlock the door. This is when I saw Sgt. Daves, Cpl. Moravec, Deputies Robichaux, Delano and Sheldon in the…

My chapter of Alpha Phi Omega is Alpha Beta Zeta, located at Radford University. Each member is required to get 35 community service hours each semester. Service projects occur around the New River Valley and help a variety of community organizations. Because Alpha Phi Omega has a partnership with the Boy Scouts of America, we host many projects that allow us to help them facilitate big events. Projects I have worked on include: cleaning a local daycare center, performing trail maintenance along a portion of the Appalachian Trail, collecting food for Meals on Wheels, raising money for different causes, running youth programs for Boy Scouts and 4-H events, cleaning our Adopt-A-Spot, beautifying local parks, and many other programs. Over the…

As of now, I am a senior at Cass Technical High School. In addition, I am also the Command Sergeant Major for Cass Tech’s JROTC program. As the Command Sergeant Major, my duties include being the standard bearer for our battalion’s cadets, and leading our drill and color guard team. Besides that, I am also an active volunteer within my community and school. The last event that I participated in was earlier in the school year as the lead cadet of a concession stand at a college sports game in order to raise money for my JROTC program. Also, I have been a service learning project coordinator for a project that had the purpose of aiding the homeless citizens of Detroit. Nevertheless, the project’s goal was to provide food and hygiene products to…

Since middle school, I have been involved in numerous local beach and river cleanup events. In Nature Academy I was able to design my own community service project. During 7th grade, I banded together with a few fellow classmates and we decided to clean up the streets of Felton one staple at a time. The state of the poles there were horrible; covered in the metal pieces from prior flyers posted there. After several weeks and hours, we had defeated the evil staples. In 8th grade, I had done some more community service on a smaller scale. By helping out in the community garden at school, I had helped the crops grow, that were then disbursed to families in need of fresh…

As an executive officer in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, each individual is responsible for a legacy project during the school year. I was responsible for SOS Children’s Village which is a foster care neighborhood that houses children that were abused, neglected and/or abandoned. Even though this was a one-day experience, I was thrilled about the opportunity to work with children as I believe that no child should be denied proper medical care and a healthy home. It is said that time goes by when you are having fun. This was true for our experience as we went four hours over time. I coordinated leadership and team building activities for the children in which both the volunteers and participants enjoyed. Who knew that in five hours’ strong bonds can be developed with a stranger that you might not encounter again.…

All throughout school I have participated in many clubs and organizations that have not only molded me as a person, but have helped me to develop responsibility, and leadership skills. Currently I am an active member of National Honor Society, and DECA. Both of these organizations, provided by my high school, encourage leadership, volunteer work, and have high expectations for behavior, and grades. Being in National Honor Society has shown me to continually do for others in need. There are always opportunities to get involved with the community, and even create drives for things like stuffed animals, and blankets for children who are sick in the hospital, and “Care Catties” for cancer patients, which include tissues, water bottles, hard candy, and lotion. DECA is another organization I am involved in at Frenship High School. DECA is a business organization for high school marketing students looking to learn, develop and compete in a competitive event. I have been a member since my sophomore…

Serving Sheboygan has always been one of my priorities. Although I have a seemingly short list of community service activities, my extracurricular activities have truly tied me closer to our community. To begin, I have long demonstrated the Lions philosophy of WE SERVE. Extracurricular involvement has historically ignited my service. As an energetic young student I participated greatly in student council, LUCK (Choir) and girl scouts; operating car washes, salvation army bell ringing, bingo and caroling at nursing homes.…

These activities have included Feed My Starving Children which is a program where we prepare packages of food to be sent to third world countries who struggle with starvation. I have also participated in activities with the goal of raising money for the St. Jude foundation, Breast Cancer awareness, Autism awareness, as well as a local tragedy. I plan to continue these activities by participation with a Kiwanis club or similar endeavor in my college career. My career choice of nursing will allow me to continue to fulfill my desire to help people in need. I also intend to seek out public service programs to volunteer in while pursuing…
